I'm sitting at my desk with happy/sad tears streaming down my face. My dad sent me an e-Card "To Gabriel's Mom" and he said how proud he was of me, and how I am the best mother to Gabriel.
I can't even find the words to describe how deeply moved I am.
It's just what I needed. I love you Dad!!!!

You're Dad is wonderful. I'm so glad he remembered. Sometimes it seems that after you lose a baby that you're the only person in the whole world who knows you are a mom. I can't imagine anyone in our family remembering before we had Jamie. Last year my mom even said "How are you enjoying your first Mother's Day?" I told her it wasn't my first and she actually said it didn't count before. She said I wasn't really a mother before. That really made me mad. It's really nice when someone understands.

What a wonderful dad! I know it's awful to go through tragedy, but sometimes it really brings the survivors closer and more able to understand and appreciate one another. It's hard work being a parent to a surviving child, but it can be sheer torture being the parent to one who is not living. Once someone knows that feeling, they truly are bonded to others who have experienced it. (((HUGS))) to your whole family, sweetie.

Sheri, I think you're so right. I think my Mom and Dad understand now, what it is like to lose a child. I wish that it didn't take losing my brother to make that happen. They were always very supportive, but this Mother's Day, they were amazing. We all went out to dinner last night. At the end of the meal, the waitress asked who the mothers in the group were. I pointed to my mom and grandma... they both pointed to me. The waitress came back with red, long stem roses for all of us. It's so nice when people get it.
