Points: 7,226.54 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 7,226.54 | My dr. says PCOS/pg has nothing to do with progesterone levels! What? Do I believe this?
So many of you are on progesterone, and it sounds like your doctors put you on progesterone to prevent early miscarriage related to PCOS progesterone definiciencies.
My temps have been very low for the past three days. I'm 5 wks pg. My dr. doesn't seem concerned. Would you be?
I have NPC from using it a couple of months ago to bring on AF. Should I start supplementing? Will it even help at this point?

He said he wanted to put me on everything that would potentially help the baby. He said even if my progesterone ended up being normal, the supplements weren't going to hurt so better safe than sorry.
I would demand they test your levels. I always have to remind myself that the doctor works for me, not the other way around. You have to always put your well being first.
I don't think the cream will hurt anything if you want to try it but I wonder if it would affect your lvl if they test it?

I have called for the past two days about my falling temps and to voice my concern about low progesterone. Both times, I asked for a p4. I was a little hysterical yesterday, but even that didn't seem to get me anywhere. I don't see the harm in at least testing my levels, but it seems that she won't do it. I'm kind of at a loss about this...why not do everything that we can to prevent something that could happen if we don't?

If not, time to shop around for ob's in my opinion. As Kristina said, the dr is working for YOU, not the other way around. P4 is a simple test, the only reason I can see them not is because insurance may not pay for it, but even then, most insurance's do since it's a simple test! Makes no sense for them to not check it.
As for it being a pcos thing, it's not a pcos thing it's an egg thing. Poor egg quality can = low progesterone. Since pcos can cause poor egg quality then yes it can cause low progesterone, but other medical conditions can cause it too. And sometimes having a short lp has nothing to do with the egg and your body just doesn't produce enough progesterone, again not necessarily a pcos thing.
Still doesn't mean you can't have it checked for peace of mind.
As for the cream, it doesn't really do much to be honest. Studies have shown it only marginally affects your progesterone. Altho it won't hurt, I would still push for the p4 just for your peace of mind! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Points: 7,226.54 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 7,226.54 | Thanks, Danibell! I read this to my husband, and has helped both of us. I think that I'm going to call my endocrinologist. Unfortunately, I didn't think about this until after working hours, so I'm going to have to wait to Monday. I appreciate your advice!
