my dream

It sounds really selfish, but I want it all!

I already have the love. I want to have my dream job, conducting a college band. I want to get into the best doctoral program in the country. And I want to have babies. And I want my career to take me around the world, as I've seen with my mentor. And I want my husband and kids to come too!

I thought for a long time that I couldn't have everything, and I should be happy with what I have. Which, I am. But my husband tells me I CAN have it all, and I think that is so cool. And on top of wanting everything to be great for me personally, I want to have a great marriage and for him to be happy and to have kids....babies....love babies!

that is a wonderful outlook, it is very inspiring and it sounds like you have a great husband. It is very important that he support you, i wouldnt know the feeling as mine often times dosent and i know that is just one more heart ache to feel in addition to everytihng else. He loves me but he has some VERY different views on life than i do.... you are a lucky lady dont forget that! GO GET IT GET IT ALL!!!

what a great dream. It's close to mine - I want my PhD to be spectacular, I want the attention, the collaborations to come, the career, and I want babies. My husband feels the same way too, and its great being on this journey together. His own path is different, but we follow our paths together.

I don't see it as selfish - I really want to have a lot to offer my baby. If I didn't have a specific dream, then i would want to try and be be the best me anyway, for the baby as much as for me and for DH. I DO have specific goals, so I'd be letting the baby down if I didn't pursue them. That's how I see it.
