I'm only a little way into the book, but it seems really excellent! Lots of detail and lots of information. Not a "light" read, you have to concentrate, but I like that. Some other books simplify things too much for the non-medical audience, but this one tells you ALL the medical info, and explains what it means.
I also like the author's realistic attitude to PCOS...for instance, he says that it may be unrealistic to expect a PCOS woman to achieve a "normal" BMI of under 25, for many women this is just setting unrealistic targets, and he thinks it is unreasonable of Doctors to withold treatment "until you have lost some weight".
And I like the chapter where he discusses other medical conditions which may be linked to PCOS, even if not proven through research e.g. In his experience, about 1 in 5 PCOS women have had to have their GallBladder removed (ME!ME!).
So the book feels realistic in its goals, and relevant to my personal experiences with PCOS
