Daisy, our Basset Hound who has been missing for 2 months and 9 days, found her way home this morning! (Odd--she went missing on Thursday, May 3, and came home today, Thursday, July 12)
This morning I let the dogs out for their usual bathroom duties and I heard what I thought was the neighbors dog, Rocky, whining. Minnie was the only one left outside, so I stuck my head out the door, and there was Daisy sitting at the gate whining to be let in!!! I got her inside and Steven (my hubby) came home from work to see her.
When I got back from work, I bathed her 3 times (2x with baby shampoo and 1x with flea/tick shampoo). She was covered in dirt and fleas! Other than being a little skinny, she seems to be in great shape!
We're thinking someone had her penned up and she got out somehow. Either way, we are SO glad to have our baby home!!! She is getting spayed next week, and she is getting a brand new collar and tag ASAP for sure!!!
Just thought I'd share!

We still can't get over the fact that she's actually home! I'm calling the vet first thing in the morning to set her up to get spayed and have her checked for heartworms so I can start her back on her heartworm preventative. I hate to have all that done to her so soon after her return, I don't want to traumatize her, but, it's got to be done!
