It all started last year around January..I started shedding more hair than I normally used to; I freaked out and asked my gyno for help. After the tests were done he told me I had too much testosterone but he didn't mention anything about PCOS. He supplied me with boxes of Yaz and said it would help me with my acne and hair loss.Well it did! but after using it for a couple of months I noticed weight gain in my belly basically in my middle section with all the love handles and such and it just went worse as I continued to use it so I went to my gyno and I said "Your pills make me gain weight".Of course like every clueless gyno in US he denied it said the problem was me and not the pills but I never changed my diet and my middle section has always been my thinnest area(well not anymore!).I know my body and I know how I gain weight, thanks! So I asked him to give me a lower dose pill..He gave me LoestinFe24.I used it for like 3 months then after I finished the pack I completely stopped using bcp pills in August. I usually ovulated regularly so after I stopped the pills I started having regular periods but my bally fat is still with me with all the love handles and since I stopped using bcp pills I started bloating really bad(I never had this happen before) It is constant! I look 4 months pregnant! I also suffer from frequent bowel movements and urinary tract infection. I gained 10 pounds. I'm 5'2 and was around 120-124 pounds now I'm 132! Natural Progesterone cream doesn't help, papaya enzymes don't help,I drink water frequently. My acne came back, I have dry eye problems which started with the use of pills.Basically I feel like s**t! I lost all my self-esteem. On top of that I was diagnosed with HPV in July and have mild cervical dysplasia and guess what! BCP pills not only cause cervical dysplasia but also make it worse because of the estrogen they contain. Estrogen is the main cause of cancer!!! My gyno is giving me cancer! I really don't know what to do I'm thinking of going to an endocrinologist. I've heard about Metformin.Does it really help? How can I reduce bloating and lose weight in "natual ways"? HELP!

SilentWarrier - I'm sorry that you've had to go through all of this. I know that it can be really frustrating but it's up to us to fight for our health. You should do as much research as you can about pcos and find another doctor who will help you sort through all of the research.
Keep up with this website, every time I come here I learn something new about pcos and how I can manage it in my life
Research Drs and find one you are comfortable with. However, it may not be the pills that you gained all your weight from. I was not on the bcp when I gained my weight, it was insulin resistance from the PCOS.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I made an appointment with an endocrinologist. I'll go visit her in December and see what's going on with my hormones. I'll especially get my insulin resistance checked because I always had a difficulty losing weight. I didn't gain weight but I never lost any either. I'll start going to gym again.
It is possible that bc pills may worsen insulin resistance. I found this article on ezinearticles.com:
"Many women with PCOS are often prescribed oral contraceptives to help regulate an irregular or absent menstrual cycle.
However, this merely regulates the period artificially, without changing the underlying problem causing PCOS, namely Insulin Resistance. When the contraceptives are discontinued, the PCOS symptoms will persist.
In addition, a new study published in the journal Fertility and Sterility showed that birth control pills may exacerbate Insulin Resistance.
The study examined 36 adolescent girls with PCOS. Half the group took an oral contraceptive containing synthetic progesterone and the other half took a birth control pill with an anti-androgenic (a substance that suppresses the male hormone testosterone).
Both groups showed an increase in Insulin Resistance. Furthermore, the group taking the oral contraceptive containing the anti-androgenic showed an increase in both insulin secretion and blood levels of insulin.
With Insulin Resistance being the root cause of PCOS, women must think twice before considering the use of birth control pills to control irregular or absent menses. Not only do oral contraceptives not address the cause of PCOS but they actually may worsen the problem with Insulin Resistance.
It is important to remember that PCOS is a complex syndrome that requires a multi-faceted approach. There isn’t a single pill out there that will cure PCOS. Women with PCOS need to address Insulin Resistance through lifestyle changes like improved diet and a regular exercise regime."
