Unhappy My Hairy Story

Ok..I just wanted to share this with everyone.....I am a hairy thing. UUUGGGGHHHH. It is so embarrassing. I have hair above my lip...hair on my chin and under like on my double chin area..all sort's of little spriglets. I have side burns, I should be an elvis impersonater I reckon'. I have hair all over my huge stomach and have to shave it and of course it is still stubbly. I have hair on my toes and my feet that I have to shave and I have alot of hair on my butt. This is ridiculous...oh and the hair on my head comes out in clumps...I was just diagnosed with PCOS and have just started taking Yasmin yesterday..today is my second pill. Will the hair growth on my stomach and chin and every other irregular place go away??? This just sucks

Hi i have been taking yasmin for two years or so and no the hair does not go away. My facial has become thinner and lighter with taking Yasmin. From what i have heard from some of the other cysters and my doctor is the only way to get rid of the hair is to go through laser treatment.

Default Hi Aimee

I'm new to the whole PCOS thing too, but I've probably had it for years seeing as how my period has been whacky since I had a tubal 5 1/2 years ago and my hair growth (seemingly everywhere) has gotten progressively thicker and thicker. You are so not alone here. I bought a Silk-Epil about a year ago. It's kinda sorta an improved Epilady, but it can still hurt like hell. I mean, it IS ripping the hair out by the roots!!! But I've found that over time it gets easier and easier and doesn't hurt as much (also the hair comes in thinner).
I too am losing hair on my head. It's a slap in the face, isn't it??? Hair growing where it's not supposed to and losing hair where it should be! Tell me God doesn't have a sense of humor!
Best wishes to you. I had my first appointment for laser hair removal scheduled for the 17th and then my docter called and said the laser broke. It will be about a month and a half before it's fixed. Just more humor...that's all. The good news is that I get the treatments done for free bc I'm in a military family and it's covered bc I have the PCOS. Gotta look at the bright side of things.

Regards!

Default PS

What the heck is Yasmin? Is it an herb? Is it perscribed by a docter? Does it work? I'd be interested to hear about it.

thanks!

Yasmin is a BCP! I took it for awhile and it did make the hair growth slow down. It has other meds in it that works like spiro. Your gyno should be able to perscribe it! I couldn't take it anymore due to elevated liver function I hope that answers some of your question.

Spironolactone has really slowed the growth of my unwanted facial and body hair. I still have to pluck but not as often as I used to. I would LOVE to have laser one day, but it's not going to be anytime soon.

I wish none of us had to have the unwanted hair and that our hair on our heads would'nt fall out but I am glad that we are'nt alone and we are all in the same boat. It really does suck big time. And yes I agree that God has a sense of humor...lol God is good though, he see's me through. I have been having an awful period...I was put on Provera for 10 day's to get me to start my period and I started Friday and the cramps are awful and the period is sooooo heavy!! If I had a diaper I would wear it..I have messed up the sheets on our bed and several pairs of panties and shorts Of course the blood came out though, i let them soak in cold water. I am hoping that the period will slow down soon so I can get dressed instead of staying in my PJ's like I have been the past couple of days. Well you all...Take Care and God bless!!! Hugs...Aimee
