Hey Everyone!
So, I started taking Hyponidd (only 1 am pill) almost 3 weeks ago (cd 4) and here's my update:
Background: I've had PCOS (that I know of) since September of 2006, but I suspect it started earlier that year. Diagnosed via bloodwork (high LH/FSH ratio) and ultrasound (pearly look to both ovaries).
My Symptoms: I have anovulation but still have AF, depression, foggy thinking, no memory, loss of libido, no CM, lots of pain in both ovaries, gained 45 pounds in less than a year. Loss of progesterone symptoms with AF, no sore boobs or anything, inability to lose weight.
Things I've tried: BCPs- Like 3 different brands-never helped with anything, and made me have horrible depression and migraines. Acupuncture/Chinese Meds- helped a very little bit at the start.
Diet: I am currently only eating protien and no sugar or carbs if at all possible/very low carbs (like 10g a day at most). -I want to try to give the Hyponidd a really good chance.
My Hyponidd results for Month 1 (so far):
1.) I'm not in pain!!!! I used to have major pain from the 4th cd on and then from the 18th day on and I had like a small amount of pain on cd 15/16, it was that "itchy boring drilling-something is trying to happen" pain in my left ovary. I still had to get out my hot water bottle, but it went away. And it deffinitly wasn't that "someone is filling up a water balloon in my ovary pain"! *huge grin*
2.) Pain with sex has improved alot! I can't say that it was totally gone in the begining of the cycle, but now that I'm in the second half- not really having reprcussions of DTD!
3.) I'm charting and although I really don't feel like I've O'd, I'm getting a biphasic chart! And feeling crampy in the second half of the cycle (I'm taking this to be a good thing). And although I've always had AF with the PCOS, it's been anovulatory and irregular.
4.) My DH says that I seem a lot more like my old self (before PCOS), I haven't been depressed, I've been generally in a more playful(...) and cheery mood. I would have to agree... I have felt more my old self. (But, still guarded... there is that psychological thing going on where I still am scared the pain is going to come back so, I don't feel like I can totally relax, you know?)
5.) Although still no daily CM

I am having a better time with arousal issues (don't make me say it! LOL) *Starting back on the Evening Primrose Oil for the CM- it helped a lot.
6.) I experienced an initial 10lb weight loss over the first 10 days, but the weight is creaping back up. Not sure what more I can do about that.
7.) Am feeling overall more on the ball. I quit college when I got PCOS, because my memory was gone, and I couldn't thing straight ever- and now, I have a new job that is requires a lot of learning, and I'm doing just fine! I'm having an easier time remembering things, and just thinking in general.
So there you have it. I want to give you ladies as much info as to what success I've had with this, because PCOS is torture, and I love you guys, you've all been great to me... So if something is providing some help, I want to pass the info along. So, feel free to ask questions!
Take care,
Lulu
