Default my hysteroscopy is tomorrow...wish me luck!

the good news is that I have a new RE who is wonderful--I saw her on Oct. 10th and she didn't even weigh me or take my blood pressure, nor did she talk down to me like my last RE did because I wasn't trying to conceive or because I'm only 19 years old. My new RE did an ultrasound on me because in her words "A picture is worth 1000 words" to her and I was very happy she did because she knew what she was looking for.

My last RE wrote me a prescription for an ultrasound and the ultrasound tech was not sure why I was there in the first place nor was she able to tell me what she saw. All I had heard back in terms of results from my RE who I was seeing at that time was "Everything's fine. Don't worry about it, you're just a kid."

HOWEVER, my new RE discovered on the ultrasound she did that my uterine lining was unusually thin so that's why I'm having bimonthly periods (which is totally atypical of PCOS) and that I have the typical "string of pearls" cyst pattern on my left ovary, though I also have cysts on my right ovary but not in the typical "string of pearls" pattern. She scheduled me for a hysteroscopy which is going to take place tomorrow, but it's the not the incision kind, so they'll just be sticking the camera up my vaginal canal and not making an incision.

Wish me luck everyone!!!

I'm glad you got a new RE. I hated that people didn't believe me because I was "just a kid." Proved them wrong, obviously. Best of luck to you!

Good luck, I hope it went okay!
My mom had one a few months ago, and she is SUPER stoked not to be having periods anymore.

A hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus and sometimes the fallopian tubes.

I didn't get a hysterECTOMY, I got a hysterOSCOPY, which means they stuck a camera up inside me to look at my uterus.

Oops, my bad.
Is it a prelude to the hysterectomy?
Or just a general checkup?

it is somewhat of a checkup but they also did a biopsy and took samples of my uterus--everything turned out normal but I still have ovarian cysts.
