Ok Ladies, it’s time I share with the Endometriosis board what has happened in my life. I know many of you have kept up with me, but here’s the full story: Went in for Lap July 07 when I couldn’t stand the pain any longer and BCP’s were not working and I couldn’t stop bleeding or get pregnant. Some of the Endometrium cells were lodged in one of my ligaments and has caused it to now be disfigured. By December I finally decided to do Lupron Depot treatment (still in pain due to not removing the endometrium from my ligament, because that would cause damage). Took my first shot 12/1 and started to feel relief mid-January. End of January begin having strange symptoms and the dr’s find my liver enzymes are elevated and there is protein & blood in my urine and I’m running a fever of 102 for 4/5 days straight. I’m sent for a CT scan in late January and CT scan shows nothing wrong. Two weeks later and lots of rest my bloodwork and urine are normal. I visit two PCP’s with my strange symptoms – fullness, not hungry, feeling dehydrated, concentration problems. I’m told I’m depressed, constipated and gassy. I go in for my second (and last) shot of Lupron on 3/2. I take the shot and then my gyn listens to my side effects – and realizes I’m pregnant. I’m in complete shock, because I know this is just crazy talk b/c my husband and I were told to use condoms just in case and we were. My dr was shocked because she had never had a patient get pregnant on Lupron. Two days later we have an ultrasound – and there it was with a great heartbeat at almost 9 weeks. I’m told to rest a lot, and I’m taking lots of extra hormones in hopes to help keep from miscarrying. Since I took the second Lupron shot they have no idea if the baby will make it. They do know that condoms are not 100% effective and that since I bleed non stop that Lupron finally created a “happy environment” for the egg to implant. I may have had eggs fertilized before, but never could implant due to me bleeding constantly. I’m still in shock and taking it all in and this is a critical week for me. The placenta will be taking over and they are afraid it may not be working due to the Lupron injections. However, this baby has already changed my life – I now know I can get pregnant and this baby is so strong to have made it so far with Lupron and a CT scan and all the medication they have put me on to treat my liver and kidneys. Thanks for listening and if you don’t mind, say a prayer for my sweet baby that I hope to one day see how far one strong, determined baby can go. Today I'm 10w2d.

I'll definitely keep you and the baby in my thoughts. How long before the danger to the baby is gone?

Olivia, once again, I can't express how thrilled I am for you! You have been through so much, and have been so patient during it all. I am praying hard for your little one, who has already endured so much, to keep fighting for the rest of your pregnancy. I've already had a stern talk with your placenta!!

As with all pregnancies 12 weeks is key. During week 10 the baby switches it's hormonal dependency from the yolk sac to the placenta. I do have a placenta, but since the placenta's hormones are fed by the pituitary gland and the Lupron shot has "turned off" my pituitary gland, the fear is that there will be nothing there to support the baby. However, I do have faith that our bodies are complex and incredible and I'm praying that my body will override the Lupron and take care of the pregnancy.
By end of May the Lupron shot will be out of my system (it's a 12 week shot), so I will feel SO much better once I know that it is gone.
Just taking it one day at a time and constant thankfulness for this little blessing.

Hey Ladies! Thanks for ALL the sweet, supportive posts.
I've kind of been quiet, b/c I'm still taking it all in and sorting through emotions. I am feeling much better this week (today is 11wk 5 days). They still are not sure if it is accurate though, b/c based on medical evidence I should be more like 14 weeks, so who knows, I'm just glad I am pregnant!!!
My morning sickness is getting better and I'm finally eating more (I was losing weight for a time there...). I have more energy this week than I have in the past 3 months.
I've had no spotting (yay) and no pain that is worth worrying over. So far I think everything is going ok
I know everyone's thoughts/prayers are giving me the peace I need at this time. Sometimes I do get really afraid, but I just have to remember I am not alone I just want SO badly to defy these statistics that say I won't make it full term.
On another note I'm 3 weeks into my Lupron shot, so 9 weeks left of it.

That is amazing. I am completely stunned, and I believe you are truly blessed, especially after everything you've been through. I pray your journey will be successful!

You are not alone Olivia! I believe in the power of prayer and positive thinking. Things are sounding really good so far, and I believe the abscence of spotting/unusual pain are GOOD signs. Remember to drink loads of water to keep your body/uterus well hydrated. Nine weeks will be over before you know it, and you'll sleep better knowing the lupron is gone.

So, I got a kidney infection The dr put me to bed for 3 days, however I'm still in bed on day 5. I hadn't been able to keep anything down and have been throwing up everything since he put me on antibiotics. Yesterday he prescribed me some anti-nausea medicine and so far just dry heaving and no real throwing up. I hope it continues to work or they will have to stick me up with IV's. When I went in they did check the baby and the baby looked fine (thank goodness).
I'm worried about my overall energy level and hydration, but the best I can do is keep trying to eat and drink and rest. I see a doctor tomorrow and Thursday for my 12 week check up and genetics testing
Thanks for all your sweet posts

Olivia, kidney infections can be common during pregnancy, so don't worry on that front. I hope it clears up soon for you and they don't have to use the IV. I'm glad you got another look at the baby and all seems well. Best wishes with today and tomorrow's appointments!
