Hello everyone, I'm new here and I'm glad I found this site. I was DX in July and since then it's been down hill. I could not find a doctor who took out time for me. I'm in the Air Force and their main concern was to fix me up enough to work. I have had sympthoms of PCOS for years, but I didn't know about it then. I have been irregualr since I started. Acne since I was about 12. Excess hair. My weight has never really been a problem, but I did gain 10lbs after stopping BC. (Doctors told me that this was my only option). I experience a constant pain in my pelvic region....this has been going on for about 4 years now. I have had every pain med that I can think of. I had a cyst rupture on my ovary in 2004...that's when I knew something was wrong. At the time I had stopped BCP. No real reason, I just wanted to give my body a chance to be normal. After that surgey it was recommended that I stay on some type of BC to stay normal...well I didn't want that pain, so there I was again on BC. I later switched to the shot which sent me through hell. Constant bleeding for months followed by nothing. I couldn't take it anymore so I stopped thinking everything would be fine. That's when I gained the weight I'm now up to 123lbs 5'3. I started searching for a doctor that would not just put me on BC and figure out what was wrong with me. Once I found out the Dr. gave me a ton of meds...some met, provera, etc. it was about 5 different things to take in one day. I did not want to take meds for the rest of my life w/o being cured. I stopped all meds and then I had to deploy (I'm deployed until Jan) So I've been searching for a more natural approach. If you have any info please share. I want my sympthoms to go away...the extra stress of this enviroment is not helping me deal with this any better. So any encouraging words will be apperciated.

Welcome! You'll love the women on here. They've got so much information. I'm not personally trying the natural approach but there are ladies on here doing just that. Plus, while they're a little technical, the articles section can be helpful.

I did take met, for me it worked wonders. I'm taking cinnamon and chromium right now, so far so good!
I too want to thank you for serving our country. My dad-in-law is retired Air Force, he just retired 2 years ago after serving since Vietnam. You all make such sacrifices for all of us.
