Hello Everyone,
After years of do-I-or-don't-I speculation about my irregular periods, I was formally diagnosed with PCOS today. I'm not overweight (unless you count a pesky 5 pounds overweight), nor diabetic. I have mildly elevated LFTs and my gyno has referred me to an internist because he is not fully comfortable prescribing Metformin for this reason.
My hope is that the internist will prescribe Metformin and keep an eye on me. I am a newlywed and my husband and I were hoping to have a baby some time next year, which obviously is looking unlikely at this point, but I would still like to conceive and have my first child by some time late 2010 or early 2011. I'm hoping the Metformin will be enough, but if not I'm willing to consider other therapies... I've seen Clomid mentioned in some threads.
I look forward to being a part of this community.

Nancy
