Well howdy all, I'm new to the board but not to the world of pcos but I'm not exactly a pro. Heres my story.
I'm now 26 years old. Married almost a year June 13th happiest day of my life, I married my bestfriend and soulmate. I've also married 3 kids 18girl Michelle, 12 girl Raechel and a 10 boy Michael, an exwife and her new husband. ( when you marry someone of a first marriage you marry the blessings their childern and the baggage ). I guess my story starts when I was much younger. I gained weight fairly eazily. I was in 5th grade when my periods started. I had always had the dark skin patches under my arms, carried the weight all in front of me, had the apron belly even when I was younger. When I was in 7th grade I had noticed the dark skin more and was extreamly embarressed about it, then the dandruff started. My mom on particular time after telling me to wash my neck and scrub it really good didn't believe I had done so. She got her little scrbbing pad, put soap on it and proceeded to scrub my neck till it was so red it hurt. When it was dryed and the red was gone it was just as dark as it started out as. She made me stop wearing my necklaces thinking i was reacting to the metel in the chains. Nothing worked. I continued to gain weight. I entered high school, it was extreamly noticeable now the dark skin. I would hear people talking about me often. Usually the comments would be about my neck and the dark ring around it. By the time I was a sophmore my periods we acting weird. November of that year I had gotten pregnant, by a rape. I never told anyone. Shortly there after I miscarried. Thats when my periods really went wacky. Months I would go with no period. At that point I was depressed and no one really knew what was going on with me or why. I finally go though that and moved on. After I graduated high school I had a boyfriend again at that point whom I'd been dating for quite some time. He joined the Navy, when he left I was very upset and shortly there after my Aunt who is my bestfriend moved away. When my periods stopped again, I had to tell my mom and my Grandma. I did the pregnancy test it was negetive. Then several weeks later I had a really odd period, spotted. Nothing more. We still had no idea what was going on. I married and we tryed for a year, and the marriage fell apart. For the next 4 yrs i was told by drs ' Your fat and you need to lose weight other wise you won't get pregnant' mind you I had all the physical symptomes that had gotten worse. April 22, 2004 I went in for what I thought was a yeast infection, ( turned out to be a bladder infection the dr missed ) at the end of the appointment she came back in and handed me the number to the infertility clinic, then said 'you have pcos, but untill you ready to start trying seriously about getting pregnant don't call them'. I wasn't sure what to think, i said thank you took the # and the lab slip and left. I filled my perscription for provera ( evil little pill ) Shortly there after i lost my job and my medical. So I got on to my husband medical insurance.I went in to see the dr for an ear infection, i told him of the diagnoses in April, by now were in to Aug. Early Sept. He had me do some blood work, Checked me for being diabetic. I went back at the end of Oct. He told me it was high 145, so he put me on metformin. I went back to him in Dec he said the number had dropped down to 114. He kept me at the same level of metformin i was already on. He sent me to have my annual physical done in Feb. She told me it did look like I had pcos, and refered me to a endo crinologist, and sent me to get an ultrasound and a transvaginal ultrasound. Feb 22,05 exactly 10 months later to the day, two days before i turned 26 i found out I had a confirmed positive diagnoses of pcos. Now i'm due to return March 9th for a follow up post ultrasound.
So there is my story. almost 6 years of trying to get pregnant, and almost 8 yrs of undiagnosed. It's been a long hard road, and i'm hoping i can get the information and help others.

Seems like you had a little rough but things do get better!
The woemn are supportive here so you should find alot of that.
I'm 23 years old, I live in pittsburgh, I've been dx since I was 19 years old, I've been ttc since I was 19 because I got married young but my marriage didn't last long either but that is another story,now I'm with someone new not married yet no rush for me, We are in a committed relationshp and we do plan to get married soon, We have been ttc for a year now,
