Found out on monday that my mum has leukaemia, not sure which type though. The dr's have told her they won't do chemo as it is too dangerous (for her age), and that at 82 she is too old for a bone marrow transplant. She has had 3 units of blood transfused which have helped her feel less tired. Nothing I can do or say is going to change the outcome. Monday and Tuesday it was like this isn't happening and I was numb, and since then the tears just appear out of the blue.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mum's illness. Do you live close to her?
I know what it is like to cope with a serious illness in a loved one. You can still have happy times together and laugh, but it is hard to watch them suffer. Thinking of you both.
