Hey aussie girls
my name is jess,,im new here
thank god i stumbled across this website..its gold!!
last week i went to my doctor and told her all my symptoms, and she thinks i may have pcos and IR. anyway i took a blood test, and had an ultra sound done...so i'll know by wednesday whether or not i actually have these conditions. YIKES!!

Did you get a diagnosis?

Diagnosed Aug 2005.
Symptoms: No periods, obese, excessive hair
Currently on Norimin, Fluox
Loving Bootcamp!

Training for:
1/2 marathon walk, Sept 08 - shin splints - GRRR!
10km walk Oct 08 - shin splints for 3km, finished 1hr 44min 28sec
22km off-road walk Feb 09, 10km run, July/Aug 09
Auckland Marathon 2011

Finished my BSc (Nutrition),
Finish BCom (Economics) in 2009

sure did

just as i suspected, pcos and IR.

i've been on metformin for a couple weeks now, as well as a low gi diet and exercise plan.

ive noticed slight weight loss ...but still waiting for more.

so frustrating

You sound like you're on the right track, metformin isn't a weight loss drug but give it the right environment and it will certainly help.

very true! iim still busting my ass in the gym and eating right...but at least now it'll get me somewhere!!! increasing my dose today to 2 full pills and 1 half pill...total of 1250mg yikes!
