 MY NEW LOVE
I just wanted to let everyone know that I entered a poetry contest with a new poem I wrote. I got a letter yesterday saying that I am a semifinalist and the winner will be chosen in Sept. They chose to publish it in a new book thats coming out in the fall. Here it is if anyone is interested in reading it.
MY NEW LOVE
Im writing this poem to let you know,
What to me, our love means.
The way we laugh, cry and talk,
Brings happiness to my dreams.
That soft, sweet voice,
Makes me all warm inside.
The way I feel when you sing to me,
Is something I cant hide.
You bring out the sun,
On a stormy cloudy day
You make me smile and feel good,
With all the things you say.
What would I ever do,
If this love came to an end.
Dont ever leave me,
My heart would never mend.
One of these days,
When the time is right.
We'll be able to enjoy each other,
Every single night.
