I absolutely LOVE Hidden Valley Ranch. Nothing else really hits the spot for me. When I ran out last time, I gave in and bought a different salad dressing, Kraft Carb-Well Lite Buttermilk Ranch. (60 cals vs. 140 in a tbsp) It was ok, but just didn't satisfy the craving. So, I went out and bought a little bottle of Hidden Valley. Just to experiment, I mixed a little bit of the HV in with some Kraft in a bowl, and yummy! (I've never measured, but I'm guessing the ratio is about 1:4.) I do it all the time now. The little bit of regular dressing covers up the light taste, but I'm still cutting out a lot of the calories, fat, and carbs.
Thanks for the tip! I love love love ranch dressing, but haven't had the REAL stuff in forever. Nothing else is quite the same. Something I've also tried is adding the HV buttermilk powder mix (located on the salad dressing isle) to light dressing. That can also cover up the "light" taste.

Good ideas, you two!
I LOVE Ranch Dressing and I agree that the taste of the orginal is the best. I will try out these tricks, though.
DH hates Ranch dressing and calls it "RAUNCH dressing!"

Its funny, I once bought Hidden Valley Light Ranch dressing, thinking it was the regular, full fat version. Once I tried it, I was hooked. In fact, after that I went out and bought the full fat version, just to try and found that I still preffered the Light.
So funy you brought this up. I made Hidden Valley last night with fat free Mayo & Fat free Milk and will it is just not the same with out all the fat. Thank you for the tip. I will have to try.
I'm with you nothing tastes better then Hidden Valley Ranch!!
