Hi All
I have a few questions which r confusing me and I'd just love to get some honest feedback....
firstly I lost 6kgs/13.2lbs in 3 months on met with diet and loads of exercise

and have had great energy levels due to met......
My labs just came back and the results first puzzled me and then made me excited and then very nervous ....well...things stand this way:
In Nov 2002 I got my labs(DAY 3) done and the results were as follows(I was not on met then)
TSH=3.5
FSH=6
LH=11.8
PROLACTIN=17.5
Fasting Insulin=13
Fasting Blood sugar=98
FreeT4=0.98
SHBG=34.3
Now in April 2004 - day 4 (after I was on 1500mg met since jan2004)
TSH=3.26 uIU/ml
FSH=8 mIU/ml
LH=7.8 mIU/ml
PROLACTIN=21 ng/ml
Fasting Insulin=6 uIU/ml
Fasting Blood Sugar= 78mg/dl
FreeT4=1.4 ng/dl
SHBG=38.8nmol/L
earlier my LH/FSH~ 2
now it is ~0.975 ~1
So does this mean that my PCOS is sort of curing itself or getting under control???
but here even tho' my LH has reduced the FSH has increased...as per the stickys a FSH <6 is great and between 6-9 is good....so ideally my FSH should be <6 and so should the LH....but is the ratio more important or the individual values???
TSH has also reduced slightly so that good either way
Now prolactin has increased ..but still within 'normal' range...I read that low prolactin is bad but high values interfere with ovulation ..I mean is the increase good or bad??
Another question is....do people take met the day before they go in for the labs?? I took my meds as I normally do and went the next morning for the tests...did I do wrong?? Is this Y my insulin has fallen from 13 to 6?? I mean it's good that Now my insulin is in the normal limit with met but had i not taken the met would it have been 13?? the doc didn't say anything about stopping met before the blood draws....so i took it as usual.....
phew...I know i've asked so many questions...but I'd love to get some feed back on my labs...doc's appointment is quite some days later.....maybe i could call her and discuss it with her sometime she's free...but that's still far away...
do write in
