 My PCOS Story/Eventual Clomid Timing ?
Hello. I'm realitively new, so I thought I'd share my story.
I've been struggling with a lot of issues ever since AF showed it's red head when I was 12. Between painful periods, lack of periods, a few hospital visits... I've had a "rough go"!
My real journey started in 2002. Randomly, I woke up with the most severe stomach pain and my roomie took me to the walk-in. I was told I had a bladder infection. I told the dr that I didn't have one, but he did the test anyway. I was right. Two weeks later, same walk in clinic, worse pains. He did the bladder infection test again and I made a very large scene in his waiting room. My roomie drove me home, had to help me out of the car. I got to the kitchen, my knees gave out and he promptly drove me to emerg. They did a whole bunch of tests, sent me home. I ended up working that night, going back for u/s the next day. I had a cyst explode. No complications. Nothing else for months.
About 8-10 months later, it happened again. I went to a different dr and she told me to get to emerg. A day later, I finally went. Same tests. Same results. Exploded cyst, no complications. I stopped BCP because of migraines, had AF once, and then not again for months. Bring on the prometrium! Four months, two rounds... life was back to "normal".
1.5 years later, I'm with someone I loved. We started informally ttc. I ended back in the emerg with the same symptoms and another erupted cyst. Sigh. Finally my gyno suggested a lapo. No surprise - multiple cysts consistant with PCOS. Surprise - endo. After this happened, the love of my life left (other reason completely unrelated to fertility. I feel compelled to say that we're still good friends lol)
After lapo... AF good for two plus years. Met DH, started to TTC 3 months before the wedding.... nothing. AF went AWOL for two months, showed, AWOL for 3.... went to a new gyno. More tests (u/s, hystro, b/w) and he confirmed PCOS last Feb. Dr wanted to start clomid ASAP because we're TTC. I've delayed it a few months because of DH's work schedule.
So finally... here's the question. DH is out of town almost every other week this summer. Can I safely start the clomid and time it for when he's in town? My big fear is that he'll be miles away when it's time to BD! Should we spend the money and hope for the best in the way of timing? Or wait until September when his schedule calms down a bit? I haven't O'd for as long as I've been charting (6 months) and AF has been all over the map. I'm currently on CD 40 and have had cycles 90+ to 22 days in the last 8 months...
