Lightbulb My Secret Recipe

Hi Ladies... Just wanted to share a little trick I developed which is really quite simple.

TMI: I break out a lot! They can be really big & painful. What's worse is that my skin gets really dry too. So, sometimes if I have to "relieve" them then the area gets all dry & flaky. I try to get rid of the dead skin but inevitably I wind up ripping off good skin which leaves a raw red mark. These marks take forever to heal, they look aweful(bright red!), & can sting from makeup & moisturizer.

So... this is what I do. I take a tube of neosporin & put a little dab on my finger tip. Then, I swipe an equal amount of vaseline with a Qtip & mix the two together on my finger tip. Then, I apply the mixture liberally to the area with the Qtip. It works great!! The neosporin helps heal the area & eliminates the rawness & stinging. The vaseline reduces the redness & moisturizes. This is a great overnight remedy but it works really quickly too. In my experience, the mixture also doesn't cause more breaking out, which is always a plus!

If anyone wants to try this(if anyone even has this problem ) let me know if it works for you!

I never tried neosporin, I use baking soda and vasoline and make a paste and use that, also help reduce edness from waxing and shaving. Makes my legs feel soft (i use it like a scrub also)

i used an intresting mix once upon a time of neosporin, prep. h and cortizone cream.
the neo cleared up the "green" stuff in the acne, the cortizone help with the redness and my aunt suggested the prep H to shrink the large zits. It worked pretty good. But that was when I was a teen, and now.... well... I tried it and got limited results as an adult.

Default Neo is for Me-o

Yes, I recently found out about how wonderful Neosporin is! I get these huge craters on my chin and I eventually have to pop them so they don't explode on people (eww gross haha!!) Well, then they are these huge scabby things that hurt and bleed. If I rub some neosporin on it, it's SIGNIFICANTLY less "HELLOO I"MA ZIT" ish.

This is the reason for this: A pimple is a damaged, in essence, pore. When you squeeze the infection out of the pore, it heals as though it were a stab wound or a scratch - hence the scabs.

Using the BP on your face is VERY drying and can make acne WORSE. The best thing to do for your face is to use a face wash that you like and that is suitable for your skin type (sensitive, etc). Many dermatologists Rx the purple acid wash stuff. If that works for you, wonderful - but it didn't work for me (They Rxed it because I have KP as well). Now the following secret will not completely clear up your acne, but it is what I learned in Cosmotology school and it is the backbone of ANY "program" that you see on TV. So the trick....

* WASH YOUR FACE.
* EXFOLIATE
* USE MOISTURIZER. Yes, even you oil head. Moisturizing cuts down on the zit-age, get a moisturizer for people with oily skin.
* Once a week, if you have time, do a deep cleansing routine - usually a steam facial *it's free - get a pot, some water, put some salt in it, put it on the stove and steam it for 5-10 minutes. DO NOT GET YOUR FACE TOO CLOSE!*

Those are the basics. Simple huh? And who knows, maybe your favorite face wash is from Wal*Mart!!
