Default My sister just diagnosed, please help!

Hi,
My little sis, who is 25 was just diagnosed. I live 5,000 miles away from her and the only way to communicate is phone or email. She hasn't returned my calls in the 2 weeks that I found out about her condition. She's the type to become very depressed and not talk about what's going on. Can any of you ladies help me understand what this condition is and what my sis is experiencing? I've tried to do some web searches but I'd really like to hear from some real women who have experience in this area. Thank you so much and I look forward to your replies.

That's great that you want to help your sis.
PCOS varies a lot in each women. Take a look around the board and educate yourself. Then tell your sis about this site!!

I wish my sisters were as caring and loving as you! She may be so depressed at this point that she thinks she's the only one/nothing will help/there is no hope. I remember being that way. Then I found this site. Do everything you can to get her to access this website. It was when I found this site that I finally recognized I was not alone and that there was hope. I hope she does not remain in a negative state like I did for as long as I did. With a sister like you though, I think she has a great start. Take care. Jean

That's so great that you are trying to help your sister! I hope she is able to join this website very soon. I know it has helped me a lot to be on this website because these are a great group of ladies, and even though none of us has *exactly* the same symptoms as anyone else, we can still offer advice and encouragement better than a lot of others.
