My problems began about six months ago. I went to the dr and I was diagnosed with high blood pressure; the bottom number was in the triple digits. Being that I am in my early twenties, that is very high. Basically, my dr told me that my cholestrol levels were off and put me on bp medication. She told me that I needed to lose weight and that was it.
When I returned to the dr, the medication did nothing. It was a struggle for six months. Eventually, we did find medications that worked. Then I started having problems with my period. I had been on birth control pills but when I started having problems with bp, I had to stop taking them. When I finally went to talk to my dr about it (I hadn't had a period for five months), I was so scared from everything that I had gone through with bp.
She put me on Provera and schedule a ultrasound. I was diagnosed last month. Now I'm here. I recently had my first appointment with the reproductive endocrinologist.
I cannot tell you how good it feels to now what is wrong with me. For months, I thought I was going to die because all these thing started going wrong so fast. I felt I had lost control of everything. To know the years of irregular periods, constantly gaining weight, and body hair is not hereditary. That something can actually be done. It is truely a relief. Thanks for reading! --Myia
Glad you found this board, I just found it recently when I was diagnosed and I know how good it feels to know what is actually going on with your body.
