Default My Story

About seven years ago, I was diagnosed and it didn't phase me. Why? Because I was only 18-19 years old and not even considering children. The only thing I remember the doctor telling me is that there was a website I should look at to get more information, so I came here. I read through a bunch of stuff, but didn't get into much detail because I wasn't too worried about it at that time. I had been on BCP since I was 15 years old due to my irregular cycles. Got married in 2005, bought our first house last December, and decided it was time to start our family. I stopped taking the pills and my period stopped too. I didn't have one for three months and I made an appointment to get some help. Was prescribed Provera and told to see what happened over a three month period and if nothing happened the doctor would talk to me about "the next step" never explaining what he meant exactly. Then I decided to start seeing a new doctor (closer to home) and during my first visit, we discussed everything and he sent me out of his office with a prescription for Provera and three prescriptions for Clomid. Told me to do the Provera for 5 days and once AF gets here, count to day 5 and start the 50mg Clomid until day 9. Then on days 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, and 22 have lots of sex (the husband liked that idea!!) If nothing happens, I'm supposed to increase the Clomid to 100mg. Then again to 150 if it doesn't happen. Now I have some questions about Clomid. I did some research online about it and checked for any possible side effects, found a few but nothing serious. Are there any side effects I should worry about? Is there a chance of conceiving multiples? Any information would be appreciated. I'm still new at all of this and just want to make sure I completely understand what could possibly happen to my body.

For the record, it's SOOOO nice to know that there are people out there who are going through what I'm going through, it's so hard to talk to anyone about it especially when so many people don't even know what PCOS is.
