Thumbs up My supplements Combo for Fertility

Hey ladies

I have been in the TTC fight for some years and with the wisdom of other fellow cysters as well as the instructions of doctors and my own research, I have come to a list of supplements that I take for fertility, for both DH and Myself, so I decided to share it and see if you had any suggestions to add !!

FOR ME :

Daily :
L- Arginine 1 capsule per day ( GNC ) for blood vessel tone
Baby aspirin 1 per day
I am taking Usana vitamins and minerals, but any good vitamin may help
Fish oil ( Omega 3 ) 2 per day
Apple Vinegar with each meal ( substitutes the Metformin by helping lower the insuline resistance, just learned that thanks to this web site !! thank God because Met was causing acid reflux and gastritis and I had to quit it )
Folic Acid 1 per day

For the cycle :
Evening Primrose oil 1 capsule with each meal from day 1 of the cycle until ovulation, with lots of water
Soy Isoflavones : after ovulation ( 1-2 days after ) until pregnancy test or AF. 1,500 mgs per day.
Meticorten : ( this is not natural but I have a lot of inmunity problems so I have to take it so my body does not potentially rejects the baby ) 1/2 a pill from CD5 until pregnancy test or AF.
Progesterone suppositories ( vaginal ) 200 mgs 1 in the morning and 1 at night for the entire 2ww, after ovulation.

For DH :

L-Arginine 1 capsule per day ( GNC )
L-Carnitine 1 capsule per day ( GNC )
Folic Acid 1 per day
Usana co-quinone Q10 coenzime 1 with breakfast, 1 with dinner
Maca root capsules 2 with each meal
Baby aspirin 1 per day
Usana vitamins & Minerals
Fish oil Omega 3 ( 2 x day )

All the above is for circulation, spermatogenesis, and better sperm quality.

Other recommendations : if you are having programmed sex or IUI, try to make sure that the sperms for the ovulation day are the best. You need to have sex 3 days before the day of ovulation when you will have sex again. Older sperms are not the best. During ovulation time you can have all the sex you want

Anyone wants to share what you take ?

Monita,

Just some suggestions:

I wouldn't take the soy isoflavones after ovulation. Some women take a few days in the follicular phase to ovulate. Unfermented soy can mess with your thyroid (which is not good for getting/staying pregnant). Do you have low estrogen in the luteal phase? Just wondering why you decided to take that. There are other alternatives if you are looking to up your estrogen (which some say really isn't necessary in the luteal phase).

The meticorten (prednisone) - I've got strong opinions about steroids, but plenty of women do well & go on to get pregnant with them. So I'll keep my opinions to myself! But there are other alternatives if you have too many s/e's. Plant sterols/sterolins to balance immune system (such as the moducare I take for autoimmune). I actually do moducare in a homeopathic dose, which knocked out my joint pain within 3 weeks. Also fish oil to lower nk's.

Best of luck!

P.S. There are conflicting studies with L-arginine in regard to taking it "post transfer" with IVF cycles. One says not to, the other says it's ok. So to be safe, I wouldn't take after ovulation.
