I'm not sure where to post this, but since I'm still in limbo I'll post it here.
I had a repeat myomectomy on Tuesday for uterine fibroids. It went much better than expected. My OB took out 12 fibroids in under 3 hours. She said there was very little scar tissue from my last surgery almost six years ago. This is a good sign because it means I will probably not make that much scar tissue this time-- which means my tubes will likely not end up blocked. I had been taking so much iron that I came out of the surgery with a hemoglobin level that is almost normal. I didn't have that much pain because I had an epidural this time. My doc let me go home a day early because I was doing well.
I'm all looped out on pain killers and sleeping a lot, but it's so good to be home and so good to have the surgery over with.
We also got word while I was in the hospital that our adoption application was accepted and we are officially adoptive parents in waiting. Now we have to do the hard part -- dossier, home study. I'm home for six weeks recovering, so I should have time to get all of this done. Hooray!!
I am so glad to hear the good news! Surgery is difficult anytime, and I know you were nervous about this one, but it sounds like you had a really good result...
Keep us posted on being a "waiting" parent and good luck recovering!
Paula,
((Hugs))
I'm glad to hear good news. Are you all going to continue ttc while pursuing adoption? Natural cycles or medicated? I hope your dreams come true very soon, however they decide to happen for you.
We will be thinking of you...

I was so glad to read your post. Congratulations for:
1. Going through with the surgery
2. Preparing so well
3. Recovering like a champ
4. Becoming a Mommy
all at the same time.
You deserve all these good things and many more.
Rest well and take good care of yourself - motherhood will be fun and you will need to be prepared for all the excitement and challenges.
I am so glad the surgery went so well. That is just wonderful!
Good luck on the dossier - it isn't as bad as it seems. We got our documents together pretty quickly. Enjoy your time off and have fun gathering documents.
You will continue to be in our prayers!

Congratulations! Great news about your surgery going so well, and the adoption application. Make sure to get plenty of rest while you can. You'll be parents-in-waiting to adoptive parents in no time! I am so glad things are going so well for you Paula.

Hurrah Paula for all the good news! I am so glad to hear that your surgery went so well and that is fantastic news about the minimal scar tissue occuring. You will feel like yourself in no time at all by the sounds of it.
Double Hurrah for being a PAP (prospective adoptive parent)! The dossier documents seems overwhelming at first, but you just got to take it one step at a time and you will make it through them before you know it.
Our good news is that Alex is coming home much earlier than we thought ... we leave in 4 days to go pick him up forever! We only had a 10 day wait between trips instead of 4+ weeks like we were told to expect... life is crazy but good!
Hugs,
Janie
