My Mood: Points: 5,481.67 Bank: 199.98 Total Points: 5,681.65 | My Test Results My FREE ADROGEN INDEX came back and it said HI 16.2 and it said in brackets next to it (1.2 -1.7) and the FSHG was LO 13 (20-113) so im guessing the numbers in the brackets are the numbers it should be between and obvioucly mine is higher and it said underneath suggests PCOS although i have already been diagnosed already , i just bascilly wondered if anyone knew anything about these numbers and if 16.2 is average high or very high im just a bit confused with it all, the rest of the numbers said normal next to them , progestrone was 3 .
Any advice would be helpfull.
Many Thanks
Teresa

I dont know the answer either but I can tell you that the numbers in the bracket are what its suppost to be. Sounds like your androgens are high. Androgens I believe are the male hormones that we dont want to be high. Talk with your doctor about it. |

I Googled androgen and here's a link for you. It's a good jumping off point, but you'll still want to do some more research of your own. I haven't been around in a while, but I know there's still a lot of good info here. The Cysters, yourself included, are a great bunch of people. Just keep up the good work. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Androgen

My Mood: Points: 8,999.80 Bank: 32.04 Total Points: 9,031.84 | hiya,
i personally would wait to get the numbers interpreted by a doctor. i know that ranges are different between britain and america, and even in the states they can vary, depending on who does the testing. i'm from the uk and now live in the states - i had a completely different set of results recently with my new health provider, which confused me even more.
hopefully your doctor can let you know what these numbers mean. get them to explain to you properly what it means, and if they can't, ask them to refer you to someone who can. a lot of the time you have to ask for what you want and need.
and if you want to go the herbal route, i have the name of a fabulous herbalist/doctor based in central london. i even got treatment on the NHS because it was an NHS based teaching hospital.
anyway, good luck with the doc
