Default My TSH came back at 0.258

My TSh came back at 0.258. It was 2.2 a few months ago. She said that my T 3 and 4 are okay, but they want to cut my levoxyl to .50 mcg. In those few months, I have been working out and lost about 10 pounds, would that affect it?

I have been feeling kind of bloated and fat lately, can these numbers cause that? I am calling right now to request that all of the test numbers be mailed to me.

i think the free t3 and free t4 numbers are more important than the tsh when considering cutting back on meds... please post the results when you get them xo jenn

Hey hun,

Did the doc ever test your antibodies? Those things can cause a whole slew of problems if they are out of whack.

Please let us know what you find...

They have never tested my antibodies. I called yesterday and asked for a copy of my tests. The receptionist there is such a pain in the butt. She seemed so offended that I would want them.

I am going back in 6 weeks to have my blood drawn again and see where everything is. I will post my T 3 and 4 numbers when I get them in a day or two.

Rosie,

My TSH has been as low as .04, but my endo was purposely trying to suppress my natural thyroid function b/c of some other problems. Anyhow, he said that as long as T3 and T4 are normal, TSH is irrelevant. Basically, that's just the "thermostat" number that tell you how hard your body is working -- it says that you're getting most of your thyroid hormone from the pill rather than from your body.

If you lower the dose, I'd insist on retesting in 3 months.

Good luck!
