and 1 more thing...i have pimple-like sores on my breasts, they are mostly under where i sweat and my skin touches skin...does n e 1 know what i m talking about?
just wanted to know if this stuff was becuz of PCOS?
Thanks for joining this site. You will get a lot of infomation here regarding PCOS and its vary symptoms.
I have considered gastric or lap band surgery. It's very difficult to lose over 100lbs but I am down 23 as of today so....we will see. I may consider it seriously if by the end of the year I am not down at least 50lbs.
I am eating extremely low carb right now which means I eat only veggies, lean meat, and limited sugar substitute with lots of water. I also take a multi vitamin, B12 and fiber tablet. It's been about two months and the results have been OK, I wish it were more, but I am going to seriously try this first.
I haven't had any of the other problems that you mentioned.

I am going to have the lapband surgery next month - July 12 to be exact! I can't wait. I have tried to lose weight on my own, with the metformin and bc pills -you name it, I've tried it! So I am doing something about it myself - and I am having the band put in. If you are interested in learning more, I posted below about the band when someone posted a question about "gastric bypass being a solution/cure for PCOS?" - It is a simple, 45 minute surgical procedure done under general anesthesia - in and out of hospital usually in 1 day.....helps you to eat less overall - no foods to ignore - no dumping syndrome like bypass - and a very gradual weight loss. (Some see this as a negative to the band! With the bypass you lost much more quickly!) Amy K.
Nikki - I've had RNY gastric bypass surgery and am almost 11 months out and down 110 lbs. Here is a link to our thread called WLS Divas...feel free to check it out.
Anyway, to answer your question...no, I don't have diarrhea...if anything you will be more likely to call your surgeon saying "HELP!!! I'm stopped up!" As for the pimple like things....I know what your talking about and usually it's a bacterial infection, using a good antibiotic soap should help, if not see your doctor about getting some antibiotics. Don't squeeze them because they could pop inwardly causing bacteremia (bacteria borne infection in the blood) that could make you really sick.
Anyway, feel free to drop by the WLS Divas thread on the Diet & Exercise board or PM me or whatever if you have questions...I'm happy to answer what I can.
Kristy

I had lapband surgery November 1, 2004 and have lost 74 pounds so far. I am very pleased with it. My mom was so pleased with my weight loss, she also had it done this April and has lost 23 pounds so far. Feel free to PM me with any questions!!

I'm very early into my 2nd week of recovery from Gastric bypass surgery and since I have lost a shocking 21 pounds already but I've been having issues figuring out my post-opt diet so I've been eating too little but taking the right supplements. I see my doctor tomorrow thank God.
My Endro doctor was actually the first person who diagnosed me with PCOS and she was the one who suggested the actual surgery to help get control of my weight and in turn get my sugars under control (I also have Sleep Apnea).
I'm hoping this helps with my PCOS and that I start having menstrual cycles once again (they have been gone for 6 years now). After surgery I have been menstruating but I heard this was normal with any kind of major surgery.
The surgery took 4 hours and I spent 2 nights in the hospital it is A MAJOR surgery and that you really need to do all of the research before going under and make sure it is a life change you are willing to make.

My husband is going to have Gastric Bypass. He actually went to his first appointnment today, he weighs a good 450lbs and its so very hard for him to excerise, lose weight and keep it off. His Mother & sister have had the surgery. Once our insurance approves it, which I have no doubt will happen then he should have a surgery date withing 2-3 months
