Default N.E. Ohio - so far, so good!

Went to Dr. Frank Gonzalez out of MetroHealth system(I am employed with it), whom specializes in PCOS only-my first appt was 2 hours long and so far-he is fantastic! Even though I have been diagnosed since 1997, he wants to learn more about me-alot more thourough than any other doc I have had! I also learned alot about PCOS in general from him. Want to look his background up or make an appt? Go to www.metrohealth.org and go into the physician directory.

to Jenbean:

Hi I am a mom of a sixteen year old diagnosed last year with Pcos. We live in Hinckley and I am very interested in your experience with Dr. Gonzalez. So far we have been through three doctors this year. She would not have been diagnosed at all if I had not pressured the gyn into doing a full blood test. Latest doctor was Dr. Austin Cleveland Clinic. Very nice but some conflicting info from what I have researched. Anyway would be interested in finding out what his protocol is.

I believe I got a letter about a year ago stating Dr. Gonzalez had left Metro (and the area)- in the end, I was exhaused by him too. Was starting me at square one when we already knew the solution to my problem (getting pg)- he also misdiagnosed me with hypothyroidism which I just discovered this year. Ended up going to university hospital and conceiving my twins. Not quite sure if you are going for pregnancy or just PCOS treatment- but if it is pregnancy, I'd go back to UH again. They wasted no time in treating and finally listened to me. Good Luck!

congrats on your twins. We are no where near conception - my daughter is only 16, she's just coming to grips with PCOS. I am just trying to find the most knowledgeable and compasionate doctors. So far we've seen some that have almost put her into permanent depression by their pessimism, and others that I question if they are reading or keeping up with the lastest studies (some experts!!!).

Any particular doctors at UH that you found to be helpful? Sorry it took so long for me to get back.
