Question Nac Question?

I started Nac a few weeks ago and I have taken them everyday at the same time. But for some reason it hasn't worked to well for getting my hair to go away. I am taking 600mg I don't know if I am not taking enough or if it just doesn't work for me? I had high hope for it but so far not much luck! Can anyone help!

The NAC works for many people who are insulin resistant. It affects insulin levels which can generate androgens. If you aren't IR, it might not help much according to some studies. I was taking 600mg twice daily along with alot of vitamin c to protect against kidney stones (nac can oxidies in the kidneys if taken alone). It didn't do anything for me but I have never been tested for IR and frankly, I don't really fit the profile (very thin, normal blood sugar and blood pressure etc.) I would raise the dosage at this point but be sure to take the vitamin c. Give it another month or so. Good luck.

OH, also be sure to take on an empty stomach. If taken with protein food other amino acids will compete with nac for absorbtion and neutralize the potential.
