Hi ladies...
I've been reading all the raves about this magic shaving powder. I went to the store today and bought one, but I was wondering....what is the difference between magic and nair? what are the advantages/disadvantages...to me, it works the way nair does. Or am I mistaken? any input is appreciated. I am really sick of looking like a monkey and want to do something about it!
thanks!!

I'm actually going to try the magic powder tomorrow, but I've only used nair once so I don't really know the difference. I think it's supposed to be more gentle and you can use it on "other" areas.
the Nair cream has never worked for me, just left me irritated and patchy. Waxing with the microwave nair has always worked for me. Good Luck with the powder.
Less stinky than the nair. Also, it seems to rinse off easier.
I do as I read another poster say that she does. I just spread the cream on, keeping just alittle extra to re-touch spots that dry, then I stand, or sit, in the bathroom for 7 minutes or so and work on my elbows and feet and such...(hey, that would be a good time to touch up the hair color too!), then, I get in the shower and rinse the cream off while rubbing with one of those shower poofs...worked great every time.
One thing I will say, although I get smoother than I ever do with shaving, and it is sooo much easier on "certain" parts, I notice that I have stubble after 2 or 3 days, which is actually fine, I can use this twice a week, I am fine with that, over all, quicker than shaving.

"When Satan is knocking at your door just say "Jesus, could you get that for me?"
I have to be the lone dissenter- Nair works MUCH better for me.
Magic powder does not get me smooth, not even right away. I hate the smell, dealing with the powder is a PITA, I just don't like it.

Nair has NEVER actually removed any hair for me! Seriously, it gave me a chemical burn and the hair was still there!!!!!!
Magic powder is WONDERFUL! It's less than $2 a can, which lasts me a couple of months. It did irritate my skin a bit after the first time I used it, but less the second time, and now no irritation! It's so fast and easy... and it can reach all the places you need it to reach! lol!
I'm pregnant and REALLY need it to clean up my "down there" areas cause I can't see them anymore! lol!

One point to remember is that PCOS causes us to tend to have male-type hair growth, rather than female. Nair was formulated primarily to remove female-type hair growth, Magic Powder was formulated to remove male-type hair growth and so is more suited to our needs.

I'm very definitely a (very!) heterosexual woman, but when it comes to the fact that I have moustache and beard growth I think, in view of the fact that the growth is not like that of a typical woman but identical to that of many men, the best answer is to be found in looking at hair removal methods designed for men.
And whatever option one chooses, one that's designed for men stands a good chance of being a workable solution in the circumstances, whereas one that's designed for women is probably designed for a much finer, lighter growth than the male-type moustache and beard growth I actually have.
