this is a great topic.
i think a positive for me would have to be me realising how truely strong i am, it can be tough having pcos, but im determined to belive it will only make me a stronger person in the long run.
I don't have a choice but to eat right. Most people around me are eating junk and stuff, which will effect them in the long term, while I snack on veggies.
finding out there's a reason i'm hairy and have a tummy and stuff and that i'm not just gross lol. and i guess this is sort of a good thing that's happened b/c of pcos that i wouldn't have needed without having pcos, but finding this site has given me a place to go to during the rough days...and weeks and months. hope that made sense.
Once you have managed to have a child, you really appreciate them and do not just take it for granted that you can fall pregnant straight away like a lot of women do. I am so grateful for my daughter as it took 2 years for us to conceive so she is even more precious! It makes you not take things for granted.
__________________ Diagnosed with PCOS in 2003 - periods only every three months or so. Started trying to conceive in 2004 and conceived two years later thanks to Clomid, Metformin and IUI! Our darling daughter, Isabella, was born on 20 July 2007! Now trying to conceive again; taking 750mg Metformin and Utrogestan. I had to have large ovarian cysts removed and ovarian drilling in January 2009.
Both my husband and I are 32; we got married in 2002 and have been together since 1995!
i love knowing i am not alone to be having all these weird problems and know there are lots of other women dealing with the same problems is an amazing relief
i am not a teen but I was reading. testosterone(the male hormone that makes us have acne and hairy) is a good provider of bone strength and bone density for us gals. We can also build muscle slightly easier than other female non-pco friends.

+No periods. (well, that was before I worried about it)
+I realized that the commercial talking about how girls are so lucky because they have hairless backs was screaming that something was wrong with me, and I caught it just in time.
+Discovering my fatty liver and pre-diabetes. Now I have motivation to diet and exercise.
+If I do this right, I'll get thinner! Hahah.
+Well I guess it's kind of exciting, since I've never broken a bone...haha. 'kay, no...I'm sad again. :[ hah.
+I'll be keeping myself healthy for my whole life.
+Mm, birth control = great skin for meeee. =D Who needs Clearasil's confidence now?
And finally,
+Finding this site with other women that have the same problems I do is a relief to me. Every day, I'm reading bit by bit from everyone. I hope I have all your support, because you have mine. :]
Once positive thing about PCOS is that its not anything worse. I could name a list of things that are seriously life threating but on my list PCOS does not fall under that category! I think this is a great topic because I have begun to notice that a lot of women on this board whine and complain and I just think its important to remember the positives!

Just the knowledge of knowing I have PCOS is nice because it answers a lot of questions I had when I was younger about why my body is different. Also, it has opened my eyes to the importance of a healthy lifestyle, and it has made me a more mature, unjudging, and more understanding of other people's problems. Every difficult situation is the oppurtunity to grow into a better person!

I've gotten so much better at being more mature and unjudging since I've been DX'ed with PCOS! It's really nice to have a new outlook on life.
True, finding out my chubby, hairy self wasn't because I'm doing something wrong was probably the best thing. Finding out I had PCOS has spurred me into looking for answers and researching, not just about PCOS but other things as well.
BUT: I'm also finding myself using this as an excuse; oh, I must be fat just because of the syndrome, not because I make crappy eating choices. <-- not a good thing I do.

True, large breasts do great things to average out the pregnant-looking stomach.
Yeah they do, which is why I won't get my breast reduction done till I get rid of the tummy as well.
