i suppose that the no periods thing was ok for a while, but i actually miss them. There is aan advert on tv over here for always pads, and they are like periods are just a way of telling you that your body is working normally, and i am like yeah thanks for reminding me that my body is all messed up! lol. I suppose one of the good things that came from my pcos is everyone that i have met on here. None of my friends know that i have pcos, my family knows but they dont really understand it and they think that its nothing to worry about, so i have had to deal with it by myself, so the support that i have got on here has been amazing! The reason that i havent told my friends is that i figure that they all have their own problems so why load them with mine, i know that they will be there for me, but i still really dont fancy telling them
I think its helped me with my faith. i was never really religious, then my boyfriend got me going to his lutheran church and then i found out about pcos and infertility and he has been so supportive with it all. i am just finding ways to have hope to be able to have a baby one day.
on a lighter note...girls with pcos usually have bigger clitoris' than other girls...enough said
While its true that PCOS has made it more difficult to lose weight I would never have even tried to lose weight if I didn't have PCOS, so it has helped me in that way, I lost about 6 pounds on the South Beach Diet.
And my ex boyfriend used to make fun of me (i know he's a jerk) because I have some excess hair....like a happy trail and bikini hair. Now I have an excuse for that so if people make fun of me I can make them feel bad!!!
for me it was finding an answer to all of my physical problems. when i was diagnosed i found out all of the things i was self concious about was due to pcos and it was like a weight lifted off of my sholders and that i wasnt a freak because of my symptoms...
its made me more knowledgealbe and now that me and my family know about it we are starting to see some sympotms in my little sister so another positive is we can get my sister on track before hes gets to out of control

I completely agree. I try to see the positive side of things (although its sometimes hard!) and without knowing how much harder it is for me to lose weight with PCOS, I know I wouldn't have taken such interest in leading a healthier life.
I totally love the one about making others feel guilty for the hair trails..... lol
I think PCOS gives us a greater appreciation for our bodies. I mean without the constant checking, and plucking and need for a 'healthy lifestyle', I doubt anyone of us would really be this aware of how our body works. So I think there is something good abt that. I also think we are able to bond together with other women who have problems. Any kinds of problems.
Higher sex drive...(testoterone)
Very knowledgable about beauty and hair removal products
Birth control w/o birth control pills (in case your not ready for TTC!)
Phermones
Oily skin=less wrinkles!
I've just been diagnosed with PCOS (as in, today xD), and after losing piles of hair a day and gaining weight, I can say the one thing about PCOS that is positive is that I will be able to lose the weight I have gained over the months & years. I have never felt the 'push' I needed to lose weight and be healthy until now. I keep telling myself if I ever want to have the family I've dreamed about, I need to be healthy. I would have to say that's my positive experience so far.
I believe the positive thing I can take away from PCOS is all the medical things I’ve learned. After being diagnosed I got to learn all that wonderful bleh about hormones, and endocrine system, medicine. At least it makes you wiser. And not getting my period frequently is quite the plus as well. c:

Guess what! Today I found out I fit in a size 4 jeans! I'm so excited! Also it's the day before my old crush who rejected me comes over! I'm so excited to show off my skinniness to him! lol. I'm pretty sure the thing that has been helping me the most is the medication I've been taking, metformin, it's worked wonders. I've lost 10 pounds!
It is hard to find good things about having pcos, but I guess a good thing was that it caused me to do research, and I found this site and everything, which has helped me a lot. It also caused me to take a step outside my life and take a look at everything, and kind of consider my options and stuff, and it caused me to get things more organized and whatnot.
