Kitty Kisses - it's wonderful, clean fresh start, to another chance for a BFP.

Hi everyone, I am confused. I am ttc and I started using 'NatPro' two days ago, 2 days after I ovulated. My research says to use half a teaspoon twice a day. However, I keep reading that the dose should be 20 mg per day, which seems awfully high.

I've read using too much can throw all the other hormones out. Can anyone help on dosage please?

Many thanks

Hi, I only use 1/4 tsp of NPC once a day. My NPC is 480mg of progesterone per ounce. This amount seems to work for me to bring on AF. And I was able to conceive using this amount two years ago. However I think everyone is different and so you should go to your gyno and get some bloodwork done to show how much you actually need.

I am ttc also and am a week late! And I always get AF on time when using NPC. I am going to take a prego test tomorrow. If I am pregnant I am going to continue to use the cream as last time I conceived the doctor gave me progesterone suppositories to sustain the pregnancy. I did not like those though so If I am prego I am going to ask doctor if I can keep using cream, and how much.

Yeah I think everyone is different when taking NPC. I tried it last month for 1st time. The brand I have is quite a high potency around 650g per oz, so 30mg per 1/4 tsp. I used that amount for 2 weeks (spread out twice a day) and didn't have AF when I stopped. So waited 14 days and then I'm currently on day 7 of applying 1/2 tsp (1/4 tsp x 2 daily) to see if it makes a difference. Haven't had AF for since last Nov, so maybe reason why low dose didn't work. This time round I am starting to feel a difference as if AF might happen...sore BBs etc...so we shall see

Mine also says on the tub that your body is supposed to naturally produce 20mg + for the last part of cycle each month anyway so adding that amount, especially if you're deficient surely can only help. And if you become pregnant you will need more progesterone anyway (your body will produce more, hence why a doctor might prescribe it is levels are low)...someone here might be able to answer this in more accurate detail??

Lots of ladies on here have had successes with NPC to bring on regular cycle and O with varying doses so it definitely just depends on how much your body produces naturally and how much you need.

Also if you do start using it and get pregnant...don't stop, keep using it until you check with your DR either to keep using it, dosage, etc or whether to supplement it with another form.

Hi faith - I'm using the brand Serenity. Sorry got that wrong before it says in the instructions that came with it "Each tub of 2.1 oz provides no less than 1,260 mg" which means 600 mg per oz (potency = 2.34%). But have read on another website that the same brand and size tub "provides no less than 1,450 mg" (690 mg per oz) and both sources say 15mg per 1/8 tsp! so I'm a bit confused by that! But either way it seems like it's pretty potent Hope it wakes up my own hormones this time.

I'm not sure if this is the best thread to post in, but I'm going to b/c there is quite a bit of helpful, recent info here!

Just some background on me - I LOVE NPC - I used it to conceive my first child back in 2004 by doing a shutdown (I did this after I had a period that lasted over a month.)

Anyway - my question is this. I am planning on doing another shutdown, I'm just looking for thoughts on timing. I had my second m/c of the year over the 4th of July weekend (I was between 5-6 wks, m/c likely caused by low levels of progesterone, go figure.) SO...Do I need to wait until my next cycle begins to start my shutdown, or can I do it this "cycle"? I am one of those that normally has a period every single 31 days. Your thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!
