Default natural antidepressant??

Anyone know of anything besides Saint Johns Wart that is used for depression?

Thanks,

I know valerian root is good for anxiety. Sorry not sure of anything else that is an antidepressant. Good luck!

I took Nature's Sunshine Mood Elevator...
This was the only thing that EVER made me feel like my old self again.
That is...until I 'cured' mine. Not on anything now. Props to you for considering something natural!

Aren't fish oils supposed to help with mood?
The Omega 3's and 6's?

I saw from your siggi that you have a young baby at home? Did you use gas or epidural during the labor? They flush vit B out from your body and those vitamins are very important for nervous system.
B-12 and B-6 are the most important ones. Work very nicely for depression.
Magnesium and fish oils are good also.

I had a c-section and was put out for it. They started me on Celexa yesterday so I guess I will see how that works. Thanks for the replies.

For some it's a lifesaver.

Run a search on "Fish Oil" and limit the results to this forum. You'll see lots of threads.

Tina - good luck on the Celexa, have you tried the St. John's Wort?
Hang in there sweetie, and good luck

Lavender and chamomile might help.
