I want to know what everyone is using in place of metformin. I am currently using chromium. I have heard great things about cinnamon, vanadium, and also alpha lipoc acid for helping with IR. Does anyone have any suggestions, and if so how much do you take. Thanx so much soulcysters Jessica
I take chromium and cinnamon and the big difference i've noticed is my blood sugar seems to stay constant,i have no times during the day when i'm tired. I keep going for longer and feel fuller.I eat less too and lost 1 pound this week. I take 400micrograms chromium picolinate and 2000mg cinnamon.

Managing PCOS the natural way!
Start to do something to make a positive change in your life!
Real women have curves, being more of a woman doesn't mean i'm less of a person.Plus size and Proud!
I read that 1/2 tsp cinnamon a day is good to help control blood sugar. That and ACV (1-2 tsp before meals) is perhaps as effective as met. My met runs out tomorrow and I'm going to try and go natural instead.

I am seeing an herbalist, and using Nature's Sunshine Brand of products (no affiliation, just the brand my herbalist uses)
I'm taking:
Nature's Prenatal
Skeletal Strength
Food Enzymes (for my awful heartburn)
Thyroid Activator
Wild Yam & Chaste Tree
and using Pro-G-Yam cream
I'm also trying to eat a combo of the Insulin Resistance Diet and South Beach Diet, from a whole foods/organic approach.
I've taken the herbs for about 3 months now (although not as faithfully as I should) and I've been dieting 3 weeks.
Last month AF came all on it's own (for the first time in 2 years) and I've lost 11 lbs. I feel great, I have energy, and my hair has stopped falling out (it was doing this excessively when I was on Met.)
So far, so good! I intend to keep going this route as long as it's working!
