Default Saw a mention today that iodine is good for Hormones?

The health benefits of sushi

Sushi comes in such a staggering variety that many menus offer a pictorial glossary to help you order. Because of this diversity, the nutritional value of one roll to the next can vary. In general, fish provides a lean source of low-calorie, high quality protein. It's also low in saturated fats and cholesterol, making it a heart-healthy food choice. Salmon is especially high in omega-3 fatty acids, which are linked to improved cholesterol levels, lowered blood pressure, and decreased risk of abnormal heart rhythms. Mackerel, lake trout, herring, and tuna also have omega oomph.
The thin sheets of seaweed, or nori, which are flattened, cut, and wrapped around maki and hand rolls, contain mighty minerals. Iodine, essential for proper hormone function, is abundant in this dried sea vegetable. You'll also get the benefit of magnesium, calcium, iron, and antioxidant phytonutrients and folic acid from eating rolls wrapped in nori.

There was an article written today for yahoo. I'm going to do some more research to see what I can find about iodine.

The only thing I would suggest is to be very careful with these, even though they are herbal. I took Vitex a while back with high hopes, and had a lot of bad side effects.

Wondering if anyone has heard of or taken Menotrol, it's an herb formula that was prescribed by my acupuncturist

Default reply to sushi and omega-3 fatty acids

Food for Thought - why historically we have food pairings . . .
I have read how great sushi can be for several reasons, just remember to ADD the wasabi to your sushi roll!

Wasabi is a antimicrobial for the raw fish!

Cultures have combined their foods for important reasons. In America we tend to have a little of this and a little of that and might lose some insight on traditions. A great reason to look into food pairings and follow traditions!!! Why fermented soy and rice? Why beans with corn? There are enzymes and proteins that help us digest these! Let's pair our foods wisely, after-all pcos and metabolic syndrome often go hand-in-hand.
