I have heard that Natural Progesterone cream is a preferable alternative to being on the pill as PCOS may be caused by too much oestrogen (found in BCPs) and too little progesterone- does anyone know whether doctors prescribe this?

Hi

I have heard that you can buy it from herbalist shops, but its called Wild Yam cream. I found this out on the Alternative Remedy board. Im not sure about doctors in the UK prescribing it but It wouldn't hurt to ask your GP Let me know how you get on.

You can get the Wild Yam cream(which is a source of NP) from Holland and Barrett, but the stuff they refer to on the other board is only available by prescription here...You can have it shipped over, I bought some from Drugstore.com.
