Default Natural Treatment for IR

Hey guys-

This really is NOT an ad, just wanted to let you know that my naturopathic doctor who I have been working with for PCOS has developed a line of products to treat insulin resistence. You can see it here if you are interested -

www.insulitelabs.com

I know several have asked about what I have done and apparently her system pulls it all together into a product.

Personally I have had success with her treating me for PCOS - even got pregnant! (M/c at 10.5 weeks but at least I am now ovulating)

Default My experience

I am taking pills that all together have the same elements as this system, from what I understand. I take a multivitamin from Tyler labs - and i take 2, 2-3 times a day. I take chromium picc. from thorne research - 1 pill, 3 times a day. I take a pill from thorne research called "Trace Minerals" that has vanadium and other "trace minerals," one pill, 3 times a day. I take Eskimo 3 fish oil, 2 pills, 3 times a day, and calcium, 1 pill, 3 times a day. I also take a herbal tincture called "Turskas" 2 times a day (30 drops) and it has a lot of herbs in it, Vitex, tyraxicum, gelcinium, and some others. I also do castor oil packs 5 days a week, 3 weeks a month. I follow a low carb diet and try to exercise 3-5 times a week.

I started this in July 2002 when I was dxed. I hadn't had a natural AF since March - I had gone off the BCP in November. From July 2002 to Sept. 1, 2002, I lost 20 lbs going from 208 to 188. Sept. 1 I ovulated and found out mid Sept. I was pregnant. During the pregnancy I was pretty sick and went off the low carb diet. I found out OCT. 31, the pregnancy had ended and on Nov. 1 I had a D&C. I gained about 5 lbs or so during the pregnancy and am still working on getting that off - I have resumed all of my treatment but having a hard time staying faithful to the lc diet. Once I go off its so hard to get back on. SO much easier just to stay on it!!

I have another 20 lbs or so I want to lose, and this worked for me before so I am sticking with it. We are also TTC so losing weight surely can't hurt in that area too!

Oh, I did ovulate this cycle And got AF naturally last week. I am amazed! Its the first natural AF since March! Very happy about it -Not that I lost the pg of course but that what I am doing is helping my body get back to "normal."

Default HI :)

Hi again!

I am still doing well! This cycle was my most normal looking one yet! I ovulated around CD20 and got AF at CD34.

We are not TTC this cycle because of my miscarriage but I am excited that in a month or so when we can start trying, hopefully things will be looking sort of regular!

I should also say that right around the same time I found out I had PCOS I also found out I am hypothyroid. I started treatment for that in September so I have to attribute some of this regularity to getting the thyroid under control too.

Good luck and thanks for asking about me!

Lori
