How much are the sessions also? And how many should I need, eg, Weekly, monthly, every 6 months?
Would really appreciate some guidance.
Also, I have heard of Homeopathy aswell, I was wondering if this is pretty much the same or completely different?
Thanks everyone xxxxx

My Mood: Points: 4,005.60 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,005.60 | I just saw a naturopath last week. My mother sees one in Illinois and I made an appointment while we were there visiting. She charged $50 for the first visit. I called her when I made the appointment and gave her a brief description of my issues. When I got to the appointment I filled out an extensive form about all kinds of symptoms. She also did a urine and saliva test. She believes many of my issues are related to my thyroid. I've since learned that pcos and hypothyroid often co-occur. I'm also anemic, which isn't a shocker b/c I bleed so much. She made up a tincture to help with my cycles and one for my insulin. She also gave me thyroid tissue supplements, iodine, and suggested I take 1-2 T of unsulfered molasses daily for my iron (nasty stuff). I'm going to try all of this for 6 months and see if it helps. Since I live so far away, I am to call her once a week to update her on my symptoms. |

I did find one quite far away that costs £110 for the first hour, and £80 for each appointment after that?

She gave me four things now--something for the thyroid, vitex, cinnamon, and adrenal support. Plus a liquid iron All the stuff is from the homeopathic pharmacy. I just started seeing her so I can't tell you yet if it's good or not but the meds the dr gave me made me feel horrid. |

My Mood: Points: 3,951.17 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,951.17 | I started working with a naturopath in late April. I made certain that she had attended an accredited naturopathic school of medicine and asked if she had experience working with PCOS. I was lucky that she specializes on women's and children's health.
I'd say be prepared to do a lot of talking. My first visit was an hour and she made connections for me about my health that I had no idea were related. She's the one who caught my hypothyroid problem and I'm so thankful for that alone. She prescribed the Insulite system and Thyroid Support Px. She recommended that I change my diet drastically: no sugar, no artificial sweeteners, lots of complex carbs, whole grains, and cruciferous veges (I haven't followed up on this one as well as I should).
As for prices: I paid $200USD for the first visit, then $100/hr. after that. The second visit was a thorough as the first, so I have been very happy with the treatment I've received.

Some up to $800, which just seems like a crime to me. I have good insurance coverage, but unfortunately naturopaths are not covered at all. Which is why I refuse to fork over that kind of money! For anyone that has access to reasonable prices for a naturopath, I definately recommend taking advantage of that!
