Red face Nausea with cysts bursting?

Has anyone else experienced nausea, like really sudden, just have to run for the trash can nausea coinciding with a cyst bursting??

My back has been killing me for a few days now and my AF went from a bright red and very light to a dark brown overnight. I figure the sharp pain on my left side was yet another cyst exploding but then I became ill. weird thing was I threw up only a clear, foul tasting liquid and ran a slight fever.

this has never happened before but I figured it would be better to ask then to run to the Doctor. After this one little episode, I'm okay but my back is still killing me.

Any answers will be appreciated.

Thanks, Athena

I experience sudden nausea all the time. My dr says that yes bursting cysts can cause nausea and extreme pain. I would say if the pain doesn't go away in a week or so to visit your dr.

Hi,

I have never experienced nausea, but i have had the really bad, sudden pains. Kinda like being shot I guess. It hurt all the way down my leg and up my back. I almost fell in front of my class. It was rough. I wasnt aware that nausea was another side affect of the cysts rupturing. Something new to look forward too, I guess Hope you dont have to go through that again.

Question

How do you know when/if a cyst has burst?

I've dealt with nausea for a long time... Sometimes it comes out of nowhere in severe waves... I take Phenergine...

You don't always know from what I understand. But I have sudden extreme pains associated with nausea and according to me dr. it is a cyst bursting.

A lot of information I have read about cysts bursting says it can be an emergency situation... I'm just confused because I see all this info on cysts needing to be removed, even if they're small and yet here it's the opposite. Is it different with PCOS? I guess I'm really living up to my user name... *grin*

I think maybe it depends on how big or small they are. Mine are the size of a pencil eraser 50-100 on each ovary. Now if someone had lets say some the size of a quarter it may be different.

When I had a cyst burst I was very nausous. I have a pretty high pain threshold and this was the first time I had ever experienced pain so severe it made me sick to my stomach.

Hope that whole affair is something I never expereince again!

(My GP likened the pain of a burst cyst to that of a burst appendix)

I hear you sistersam. I have been there too. Not specifically your problem, but I was to the point where it hurt to do ANYTHING! My dr suggested a daily excersize routine which was mostly made up of stretches. It helped with the pain, as well as a mild muscle relaxer at bedtime. I only take them when I begin to stiffen up or feel sore. Good luck at your appt. I wish you the best.

The nausea comes from your body going into shock from the pain. The body will want to empty everything so that it can spend energy dealing with the pain.
The last time I had a cyst rupture (April 1st) I had the nausea as well as diarhea (sp?), faintness, and then when I laid down my legs were shaking/trembling. It passed about 10 minutes later and I was fine, although quite tired.
That is the first time a rupturing cyst was that bad. Hopefully it won't be that bad again
