Default Naval Piercing... Unsure what to do for Pregnancy?

I wrote in a while back because shortly before I got pregnant I got my naval pierced. It was literally weeks afterward that I found out I was pregnant. I am currently 5 1/2 months along and I still have my original barbel in, however I do know that soon there is going to be too much pressure put on it so I will have to take it out.
It has taken a bit of digging, but there is a solution out there for pregnancy. There are specialized pregnancy belly rings.
Thought I'd share the link and pass on the info for any one else out there who might have the same question I had about 5 months ago. I just ordered mine, it will be here soon! I am looking forward to changing to a more comfortable solution.

That is awesome! I am way too fluffy for a naval piercing, but if I ever get a better tummy I am getting one! I like those flexible rods for pregnant bellies.

Thanks for sharing. Mine hasn't bothered me yet, then again I don't have much of a bump yet either. Time will tell

Yeah, I ended taking mine out around 20 or so weeks.

Still, it would have torn if I'd left it and I didn't bother to research alternatives at the time. I had a small ring in there.

This makes me happy! I've had mine pierced for 8 years and the thought of taking it out made me sad b/c then it just wouldn't be my belly button lol

My husband made me take mine out. Said that if it every stretched out and some how got infected I would never forgive myself. So, I did. Those are super cute though.

I took mine out too, didn't want to risk anything. I don't really miss it though, I got it done at 18 and at 25 I just feel too old for it.

I took mine out at about 16 weeks but I know some girls have had good luck with the flexible rings. For me, I'm not sure if even that would have been comfortable toward the end when my button was completely flattened. I'd had my piercing for many years before getting pg, and at that point the piercing hole is not going away, even if you leave the ring out for an extended period of time. The hole is still there in my navel. I never replaced the barbell after DD delivered though because my belly button looks a little different now (more like an ellipse as opposed to a circle); I didn't want to bother with it and didn't think it would look as good. But then, I am also old (36)!

I ordered my ring about a month ago. I don't have to change it just yet but I already have it on hand for when the time comes.

I've had mine since 22 and I'm 28(Nov 4) so I just went ahead and took it out. The longer I waited I probably wouldn't have. I'll just see how I feel about it after I deliver.

Well... I haven't taken mine out yet and I'm 23 weeks. Though its starting to get a little uncomfortable. However I am really not showing much yet.
Glad to see that I was able to help some of you out in finding a solution! I know I'm on the older end of getting one done, but its been something I wanted for so long and it has taken SO long to heal that I was determined enough that I was not going to let it close up! I don't know if I would actually go through the pain of getting it re-pierced.

I got my belly pierced when I was 14-15 I took mine out when I was 21 and my hole still hasn't closed! If I wanted to put a ring in I still could but I think it would be weird having it since I have a daughter now! I just don't want her to do it to her belly until she's 18 ( I went behind my parents back...) so how could I tell her no when I have it...You know what I mean?

Hi - I'm 34 weeks and have 20 month old twins, with the twins I took it out and the hole didn't stretch, this time it's stretching (even though I haven't gained much) and there is a stretch mark appearing which sucks! I think it's best to take it out or it may stretch worse, it all depends how you carry. Good luck.
