I started met on Saturday, March 8 if that's close enough!!
I also would really like to have someone to check in with regularly for support!

I know you refer to using met as a "horrible roller coaster" and I know many people have had some very BAD experiences however I think especially since we are just starting out, let's not look at this as a horrible thing but rather a positive stepping stone in getting where we want to go!

Good luck and if you want to check in with each other regularly , that would be great! Just let me know!

GOOD LUCK!!

I started mine yesterday along with Spiro and Provera (so I can start taking my Yaz) Kinda scared after all the horror stories but hopefully it'll be ok. I would like to keep up with ya'll as well but with all this medicine it'll be hard to see what side effects belong to what. Maybe this way I can see which effects aer from the Met

I am so excited that you two have started it! I agree it would be neat to have somewhere to check in and let eachother know how its going! I am trying to look at the positives. I am currently taking 500MG. I need to move in on my dosage too 1000MG in two weeks, then 1500 then 2000 *Yikes* Its something I know I need to do though! I know people have had good exp. with met. I hope after all the side effects I will too! What dosage are you at? How is it going so far?

Coincidentally, I took my first dose about 2 hours ago. So far, so good, but we'll see what the morning brings. So, I guess that makes 4 newbies in the last few days.

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all doing well and the excitement of starting a treatment and potential pay offs of the met are keeping you going!!!

Day #5 with met for me and so far, so good.

I was rx 1500mg a day but I decided to work my way up. I currently take 1 - 500mg tablet with supper. I have been doing this since Saturday and thankfully, no s/e to date.
I have noticed some extra "gas" (TMI) about 1/2 hour after taking it and it lasts for a couple of hours but that's it. DH thinks it is just becuase I have started to eat more veggies, etc. I seem to associate it with the met tablet.??? Anyone feelin extra "gassy"?

All I know is that I feel lucky and blessed to be having such a positive experience. I hope that when I increase my dose, the s/e don't increase.

Hang in there everyone .. we can do this!!!!

~~~~~~~~~`Babydust to those who need and want it!!
Today is day two on the Met. I had to fight with myself to get out of bed this morning, more than usual that is. I'm taking 500 mg the first week, 1000mg the second and then 1500mg the third. If I can handle that my doctor wants me to call her and get the ER Met so I'm not taking a gazillion pills. I haven't noticed anything unusual yet except I'm always thirsty, which can be the spiro.
Hope everyone else is doing well with theirs!
Of course
Is anyone else on any other medications while taking this?
I'm on Provera and then Yaz after that. Also taking Spiro 100mg.
I take them all at around 6pm every night with either a glass of milk or dinner.
I am taking Spiro (100mg total) as well...I am thinking of holding the BCP to see what happens to my cycles. I am a week late on the first cycle off BCP right now
so Morning (around 8:50am) 50 mg spiro 500 mg Met (for 2 wks then 1000mg Met)
and then dinner (between 6-7:30) 50mg Sprio and 500 met (again the 2wks then up the dose)
I'm kinda worried about adding the Yaz to all this. My twin is on Yaz and nothing else and she says she's been nauseated since taking it. I'll be upping my Met when I start my Yaz and hope it doesn't bother me.
Butterscotch, I noticed a lot of gas about 30 minutes after taking the tablet, too. I don't think it's your veggies.
I've been on Seasonale and 100 mg of Spiro for about 6 months. They've done good things for my chin hairs, but didn't stabilize my weight. We're hoping this will.
How great to have timely updates from people on the same journey. You guys are a big help!
I second the gas shortly after taking the tab....that so far is my only SE at this point.
Hey Girls! So yesterday was day two for me! I actually didn't get the poops but I did feel quezzy. Somewhat gassy also! I am trying to think good about this and I am trying to take it everyday. In the past when I was on it I would not take it faithfully which probably worsened my s/e. So what exactly is Spiro for? I hear alot of you take it!? Tiffers! I am on Yaz. Well this Sunday I start my new pack.! When are you starting!? We should start together. I think Yaz is ok. However when my period comes I am so crabby/and emotional! Worse then usual. Its weird. They say Yaz is suppose to help that. I have the reverse affect. My friends don't even want to be by me! LOL Gimpyof course you can join the more the marrier! Emmster I think veggies and met combined make us gas machines LOL!! its embarrassing!!! Butterscotch!! You lucky girl!!!! Im so happy for you that you arent suffering from any major bathroom runs! lol!
Lol, I'll vouch for the gas se. It's awful. My BF thinks it's pretty funny though.
Rae: Here's a link to explanation about Spiro http://health.yahoo.com/women-gyn/sp...e--tw9658.html I'm supposed to start Yaz on the first day of my AF. I'm on Provera right now till next monday to get my AF to come. So possibly a week or two.
Emmster: Do you like the seasonale? My mom was on it for a bit I think. I've heard some mixed things about it.
I'm glad no one's having awful se though!
