Question Necon: Continued with yellow pill after 21 days

Hi All,

I have been using Necon 1/35 for almost 2 years now and this time instead of moving to white(inert) pill on day 22, I by mistake continued with the yellow pill in my 4th week as well. Normally, I get my periods in week 4 but today is day 26 and I have not had them yet.

I am kind of confused on which of the following should I do:

1) Start eating the white pill from today and not finish the week
2) Wait till Sunday and then start the white inert round of 7 pills.
3) Continue with the Yellow for full cycle of another 21 days

Please advise

I know the original post is an old post, but it would have been OK to do any of the options that pratima listed. If she preferred to keep her cycles (active pill start day) on the same schedule, waiting until Sunday or taking another complete pack would do that. If she doesn't mind changing the starting day of her active pills, she could have stopped taking the current ones immediately, and restarted 7 days later. There will be a risk of breakthrough bleeding the longer you continue to take active pills, but if you've been on the pill a long time, breakthrough bleeding might not cause a problem.

Some people take two or three packs back to back all the time without taking inactive pills, just to avoid having a period. I've been known to take 4 weeks of active pills instead of 3, so my period comes less frequently.
