So I am determined to take care of myself properly in 2009, so the first thing I need to do is find a new dr, because I hate my current one. So here is my question.
How did you guys find a dr who knows about PCOS? I really want someone who knows what they are talking about, and wont just stick me on BCP again and not even talk to me about things. But I don't know what to do, clearly the list of drs that I get from my health insurance isn't going to tell me anything. I just want a good dr and I was hoping someone on here would have some advice for me. Thanks.
You'll get a list of research studies on PCOS that also have 'new york' in the abstract. In most cases, you'll see that the lead pcos researchers of that study are from a New York-based medical institution.
Since that institution is actively involved in PCOS research, it might be a good place to seek help.
(I just ran a quick "pcos new york" search at pubmed...lots of good info)

I hope this helps also...I am sort of in the same boat when it comes to finding someone who listens and is knowledgable about PCOS w/o automatically Rx'g BCP.
Sorry if some of the links are Brooklyn biased (lol) but I often travel to Long Island and depending on where you are in L.I/ there may be a 30 minute ride if you are driving in.
