Exclamation Need Advice ASAP

Good morning ladies,
I have a dilemma. My GYN has me on Met 1000mg daily, Yasmin, and Prenatals. DH and I want to TTC ASAP. Dr. doesn't want to hear it at this point, wants me to weigh (and I kid you not) 110-120 lbs before we get pregnant (currently 190) AND wait "a few years" after I weigh 110-120 lbs so I "get used to eating right". First of all, I don't eat very "wrong". I have always gained weight pretty easily. Heres a little of my history- my cycles have always been sporatic, mc Dec. 2006, dx PCOS Feb 2007, this is when I started the Met and Yasmin. I went back to see Dr. Early this month and thats when he told me he wanted us to wait YEARS. I have myself sick over this. I am just SOOOO frustrated at this point and unsure of what to do. Dr. never even sent me to a RE. I don't know if I should go see another Dr. or if I should just take myself off my bcp. I'm afraid all other Dr. will say the same thing. Anyone have any advice for all of this?? Please answer!!

Personally, I'd find a new doctor. When I got pregnant I weighed 215(ish, I can't remember exact weight) and I lost about 10 and gained back 8 before I delivered. I had a great pregnancy. Just because you weigh more than what your doctor "thinks" you should weigh, doesn't mean if you got pregnant now it would be doomed. Yes, there are increased risks of GD ans pre-e but if you take care of yourself it can be avoided. I would get a second opinion. There are plenty of doctors that wouldn't treat you like that. Good luck!

I would also definately encourage you to seek another opinion or 2...My doctor and I never really talked about me conceiving, but she did encourage me to lose a few pounds (weight 260 at the time) just to lessen my risk of diabetes and such. There are doctors out there that will help/let/encourage you to conceive even if you're not at an "ideal" weight to some other doctors...you just have to find that right doctor.
