Default Need advice from the NPC experts...

I must be doing something wrong.

I started using NPC the day after my last AF was over, and continued for 3 weeks, then stopped. I know others have posted that it's ok to use NPC 3 weeks on, 1 week off if you aren't concerned with ovulating, which I'm not.

After a day and half off the NPC, I had some brown spotting for half a day, one surge of red bleeding (like normal AF) that afternoon, then a little more brown spotting and then nothing. Now it's day 9 since i stopped the NPC, and other than that day of spotting, AF has not shown up.

Do I start using the NPC again? When do I start, since I never had AF? Is it possible this happened because I did 3 weeks on instead of just 2? Or should I have waited till cd14 after last AF was over before starting the NPC for 3 weeks? I can't figure out what to do.

Can anyone help us out, or point us to an old post that answers this question?

This is a tough question... I'm not even sure Dr. Lee's book addresses this!

Darn! I guess I just don't know if I should hold off using NPC again until I get a "real" AF (in other words, more than one afternoon of flow), or if I should start another cycle of it and hope that next time, I get a real AF.

Maybe this just confirms that I am screwed up.

I'm also taking EPO and Saw Palmetto....could that have anything to do with it?

Our bodies are so sensitive AND individual, it's hard to say whether other supplements are the reason.

I just checked, and Dr. Lee recommends sticking to a regular cycle of on and off again. He does say that sometimes it takes several months for periods to become regular. Although he also says that "healing" the ovaries by taking NPC from CD5 to CD28 (approx.) should be done for a few months and then to induce ovulation so I'm really not sure what he would say about doing that ALL the time. However, I assume that is like being on birth control pills?

Which is not to say he is the be all and the end all...but he is certainly the only one publishing extensively about NPC that I know of!

Maybe his newsletter section of his website would have an update?

Hmmm, I'll have to check his newsletter to see if there's anything there.

I guess I'll try another cycle and see what happens this time. Thanks so much for the info!

Sort of the same thing happened to me a month ago. I started the cream on Feb. 2 and was trying to do 3 weeks on. Well on Feb. 15 I started spotting which was bright red breakthrough bleeding and spotted until the 23rd. I continued for a few days but the spotting was red off and on, so I stopped the NPC and haven't done any since, but I also didn't have any flow. I am also taking Vitex and read post here where some were having trouble using vitex and NPC. I stopped the NPC and wanted to wait a few weeks to see if anything happend different. I think I have been trying to ovulate for the past few days. Everytime I take vitex my cycles are between 42-44 days and I always ovulate. I still use the NPC for PMS headaches by rubbing it on my neck and temples. So far I am having no PMS symptoms which is a god send for me, except for a PMS headache that I had a few weeks ago.

Dr. Lee suggest that it may take a few months to see a pattern, so if you can get through a few months just keep doing the NPC and try to apply it based on the bleeding or spotting. When you are spotting and have no red bleeding just continue usage until you have flow or you finish your three weeks. Sometimes the spotting is your body getting adjusted to the NPC and is normal for a few months. I also may be the brand of NPC that you are using. I use Progesta-Care in a pump.

I would start the NPC again on sunday for 3 weeks or if you want to see what happens just wait 3 more weeks and then start again for three on. That will give your body time to rest.

    Good Luck!

Just want to mention, Progesta-care is one of the brands listed as being reliable and containing the recommended dosage of progesterone.
