Hello,
This is my first post and I need your advice. I have pcos and endometriosis. I've known this for years. I've been bleeding since before halloween. I went to my family doctor after I had bled for a month and she put me on bcp. She also did some bloodwork and found I was aneamic and needed a blood transfusion. The bcp stopped my bleeding for 11 days and then bam here it comes again, very strong and very heavy. The bcp have made my cramps the devil and my chest is the sorest it's ever been. After my blood transfusion a week ago, she doubled up my bcp, now I take one in the morning, and one at night. This is to stop my bleeding. I'm still bleeding, but not as heavy. I go to see a gyn in January.
Here are my questions. I hate the bcp, should I continue to take them? At least until I see the gyn.
I've been on different websites about changing your lifestyle and eating healthier to deal with pcos and endometriosis. Which one should I focus on. They are both totally different eating plans.
Do any of you take herbs or supplements to help with your disease?
I think that my gyn wants to talk about doing a dnc or an abdominal ablation. Has anyone had either, did it help you? I'm ready to heal my body from the inside. What books can I read? Websites to visit?
Thanks for reading, Mckinsey

I would think that a trip to a nutritionist would be a good idea for you. They can custom make a diet for you. I would tell them before your appt that you are interested in a diet that could improve your symptoms of both your conditions. They do help. I went to one and lost 87 lbs so far. I tried other diets and they just weren't healthy, I kept getting sick all of the time. In the meantime if you were trying to eat for PCOS, stay away from processed foods and sugar. Complex carbs are better than not. Try and eat lots of veggies, but try and stay away from the starchy ones, peas, potatoes. Lean proteins and fish. Eat whole fruits rather than drinking juice. Stay away from soda and caffeine. Lots of water. A good multivitamin is good. Organic whenever possible. And check with your dr about exercise, if you are anemic I don't want to say go out and exercise, but ideally you would exercise regularly. Get regular sleep. Basically eat healthy and take care of yourself. Good luck and get all the medical help you can, crazy diets do work short term but they do more harm than good and a good healthy way of eating can help you forever. Wow that sounds corny, true but corny. Take care!
