Default Need advice : when to start my Clomid.

Hi Everyone -

I need some help. My doctor just gave me Clomid and my husband and I can't wait to get started. I just had my first cycle day today.

Problem is, I have read tons about the side effects that people commonly end up having (moods, ovary pain, nausea).

I will be attending a 3 day meeting far away from home during the 5 day period where I would be taking the pills for the first time. I am worried because if I have any major side effects, I won't be near my doctor and it may mess up my performance at the meeting.

My gut tells me that I should wait until next month (or two months given I have PCOS) but my heart is telling me to throw caution to the wind.

Please help and tell me what you think I should do, from your own experience.

Thanks for your help.

I don't recall having any major side-effects from Clomid. I say go for it. Good luck!

The only major side effects that I had while actually taking the Clomid was heavy, heavy AF. I don't think that it is overly common though.
The real side effects started on about CD12. Hot flashes and crazy mood swings. I was a big ole ball of rage. And it seems to have been for nothing snce today is CD17 and no O. Hopefully you'll have better luck!

Sandra ~ I've heard Clomid can delay O some, so don't give up yet.

I'm holding out a sliver of hope. Sort of. Not a thing is going on though.

Thanks though!

Default Thanks!

I wish you luck as well. Thanks for taking the time to reply to me while you deal with your own issues.

I am also a HUGE Ramones fan (saw them live about 25 times when I was yonger and met them several times in NYC) so I love your quote!

Thanks all! Not sure what I am going to do yet - called my doctor too. I just have a really sensitive chemistry so I am trying to play it safe. I think there is also an unconscious fear of finding that it doesn't work. Have to move forward though!

Good luck to all!

Default Well, better luck next time. :(

Doctor's office just called. They think I should wait until my next cycle, given that they don't know how I will react to Clomid. My cycles have been 50 days recently so I am bumming. I was so excited to get started.

Oh well. Thanks for the help!
