Ok, ladies.... here's my sob story. I recently moved, and in the move, lost my lovely little Freestyle flash. I'll be the first to admit, I'm a bad little diabetic. I haven't checked my blood sugars in MONTHS. Anyhow, unpacking today, I came across my older Freestyle, that I haven't used in over a year. I've got the strips, I've got lancets... but guess what? My meter hasn't been calibrated since I got it, and it's WAY off. So here's my dillema: I want to start actually CARING about my health a little more, because I want to get to a place health-wise that is appropriate for us to start TTC, so I need to check my levels a LOT more. If anyone has an old meter they'd be willing to a health-insurance-less diabetic, or has the calibration fluid I may need for my Freestyle, please PM me. I'm unable to offer any sort of payment right now (can't even afford groceries right now! eek!) but may be able to in a few weeks.
Just let me know if you're able to help!!

could you check with the diabetes nurse(s)/dept. to see if they'd have any old ones? I was just diagnosed with diabetes and my brother thought maybe he should check his blood sugars too. His wife works at the hospital and talked to the nurse who does the diabetes classes (it's a small hospital) about it and she gave my sil some stuff a glucose monitor and all the stuff to go with it that they had on hand. It was a bit outdated but it worked. Just a thought!
I was in Target last Friday and they were giving them away for free. Give it a shot!

Some hospitals have a diabetes learning center. They give away free meters and testing supplies..You might try there...We have one here and that is where I got my meter..
